Yes. I'm assuming you don't understand the concept of creation. Is Whitmore the guy in a half court set that collapses the initial perimeter defense causing the defense to scramble generating secondary and tertiary assists?
If you don't like Green, then understand the replacement for him isn't on the roster currently. That all. You can feel snarky about being a negative Nancy about one of our players as much as you want, I'm just stating that is my point.
What are you exactly sure about in the NBA? Nothing is certain. But guys like Cam and Amen magically developing the on ball creativity against set half court defenses of Green would be magical but not likely. If the Rockets are going to replace Green they need to find someone like a Mitchell or Booker waiting for a trade.
I don't talk like anything is certain. You can break down my diction to show me how I'm wrong. I wonder if you always make definitely clear prefacing statements about what you are about to say isn't 100% certain every time you make a statement on clutch fans in regards to basketball analysis. Do you operate that way?
Replacements need not have the same skillset. If Sengun is replaced, it will surely be for someone with a different skillset. Just like that a more efficient shooter who has better vision and moves the ball better on offense with good defense can replace green without the ‘creativity’ you mentioned.
Hey, don't pretend that you don't know when someone is talking like his opinion can't be wrong. Not everything is equally certain or uncertain. Your certainty about Jalen's basketball abilities sounds extreme a lot of times. Some of it I actually agree with you. But your certainty that nobody on this roster could replace Jalen and do at least equally good, maybe even better, is something I and a lot of other people don't agree. If what you mean is that nobody could replicate what Jalen did, then it's true. But that claim is pretty meaningless. No player can replicate any other player. What is important is, can someone on our roster replace Jalen and make the team better? We'll see.
For the 25% of last season where Jalen was good, I agree. But for the 75% of the time he was bad, Jalen simply not playing at all would have made us better.
Cam is on Jalen’s tail to take his position. Jalen is a below average shooter, average defender and sometimes mentally not in the game. If Cam play great tonight and the rest of the summer league games….Jalen is going to be in trouble….Cam is consistent, and a better shooter than Jalen.
Cam= edge Green = entitled However, both together at times if they could feed off of each other would be happily accepted.......
Cam seems to better offball as well. With Reed Showing up today the way he did, Amen Sengun and Reed will easily get Cam easy looks while they create. There really isn't anything about Green that screams pay him the max and build around him.
The creativity of Reed, Amen, and Alperen with shooters and Vets sprinkled in has nothing to do with Jalen Green, who is currently an inefficient Kevin Martin body. He can fit out, or fit in, and the Rockets have several guys that are coming to snatch his chain. Prayers up that he can play in a system, and not just ball out in AAU March like KPJ. Udoka has been handling Jalen Green exactly how he should be handled. So happy that he is in charge of this team.
What creativity does Amen have exactly? His short roll creativity? Reed looked really promising in his first summer league game. Why do people sound like idiots?
Honestly doubt Cam will be a better shooter for their respective careers. Look at their ft% and shooting form.
Do you think Green was doing AAU March when he lead the entire in on/off impact for 15 games? Dude plays at a MVP level over a 13-2 stretch and it's AAU basketball.. And you have the audacity to make these shitty claims because of a summer league exhibition game. Do you see the irony?
You don't agree and that's fine. And you don't have to explain why you don't agree. That's fine. But it seems like your argument basically is "nah uh"
I’ll add that AAU March is better than nothing at all, which is what it was looking like it was going to be last year. The fact remains that Jalen Green has yet to be an average NBA player for the first 2/3 of any season he has played thus far. We need to see him be average this season. Not a star, just league average. The Rockets will win a lot of games If that is the case.
I dunno, in many games last season when A. Holiday subbed for Green we were better, and Holiday "is on the roster currently"… So that’s just ONE replacement that was working pretty well. The others that people here talk about (Cam, Amen, Reed) may work out too, I dunno.
