Now we play a GOOD team - the benefit for Green is that this one likes to go fast, so he might be able to take advantage of that - as he is much better in a fast paced game. DD
He just had a huge momentum play (the monster drunk) and then turns down a wide open 3 to get Jabari a look.. which Jabari turns down and the ball gets swinged around back to Jalen in the corner who turns down another open 3 to drive to the basket for an easy 2. This to me shows the willingness to be coachable and improve. I think there is nothing to suggest that Jalen hasn't been listening to the coaching staff and I will continue to believe that he can improve as player. This entire season I've seen enough little moments like this to believe despite the dreadful shooting that he has improved as a player. Watch the whole sequence here.
basically a slight step above someone like Westbrook, a career 30% 3 point shooter, launching threes all game taking 7 threes a game and you’re not even shooting 32% from deep on the season is an injustice to the game of basketball
Exactly, but Jalen's taking almost twice as many as Westbrook did on our team. Also, when you look at the starting shooting guards for the top 10 teams in each conference, only 6 players take more 3's than Jalen. The difference is their averages are from 37.9 to 41.4%. 18 of those teams have a 37% or higher 3PT shooter as their starting SG, and 10 have starters shooting over 38% from behind the arc.
I'd have hit it then and now. Hell I've done a hell of a lot worse shiit than Jalen has been accused of .... and most here probably have too. My fingernails are painted too.
Patience, my friends...This summer, we will know where Rockets Exec/GM, Suns Exec/GM, and other Execs/GMs stand about Green and Sengun.
I doubt either is going anywhere this off season. Both are just now starting to flourish under Ime. HOWEVER, I do think the Rockets want to run more, so how that's going to effect Alpi moving forward, Im not sure.
