I wouldn’t call him a moron but he’s very stubborn on making adjustments - and in the playoffs you have to be fluid with adjustments game to game - even during season Rockets when he didn’t put Bari back into starting lineup and was so afraid to do so he would put Tari in.

Ime 100% knows him and his staff dropped the ball several times during the series - will he own up to it.. prob not

took Finch 1 game and he already said, it was on him to get Randle looks in second half and Ant better looks in 4th after the OKC game …

This might be the most meaningless random stat. WTF does that even mean? You probably saw some stat on twitter or tiktok and thought they cooked.

Here's some more Random stats for players:

    Rockets are 10-6 When Alpi scores 25+ = 62.5 Win%
    Lakers are 13-6 When Austin Reaves scores 25+ = 68.42 Win%
    Pistons are 29-19 When Cade scores 25+ = 60.42 Win%
    Nuggets are 33-17 When Jokic scores 25+ = 66 Win%
    Wolves are 29-19 When Ant scores 25+ = 60.42 win%
    Warriors are 11-1 When Buddy Hield scores 20+ = 91.67 win%
    Nuggets are 8-0 When MPJ scores 25+ = 100 win%
    Clippers are 17-7 when Norman Powell scores 25+ = 70.83 win%
    Cavs are 11-1 when Evan Mobley scores 25+ = 91.67 win%
    Twolves are 12-1 When Julius Randle scores 25+ = 92.3 win%

    Rockets are 22-10 When Jalen scores 25+ = 68.75 Win%
    Rockets are 30-20 When Jalen scores 24 or less = 60 win%

Good teams are going to have good win percentages...especially when any player on that team goes for 25+
The Rockets are a good team and Jalen took the most shots so of course he will have high scoring games where we win. And we'll win even more when one of the most inefficient SG's in the NBA is actually playing efficiently.

But out of the 8 players with the most minutes played the only player with a lower TS% was Fred. Jalen just took a lot of shots and that's part of the reason our offense was awful. Because we had a below league average shooting guard being our highest usage player. So our best offensive strategy became to grab his misses and go up with the putback.

Also, btw in the clutch Jalen's usg% went down. Alpi's went up. Alpi was the teams highest usg player in "clutch" situations. They clearly wanted the ball in his hands more than Jalen's when the game was on the line.

Regarding Ime's statement about Jalen in the playoffs:

    Per 100 possessions:
    upload_2025-5-21_17-26-55.png

    Per Game:
    upload_2025-5-21_17-27-58.png

So what we can see is that of the starters, Jalen had the 2nd fewest minutes. The only player out of the starters that Ime played less than Jalen is Dillon and my guess is that had more to do with foul trouble. There's a lot you can take away from these stats, but what you can't take away from them is that Ime believed Jalen being taken out of the series was the key to the Warriors winning. Otherwise, he gave them a huge break by not playing him more. Jalen is the guy they are keying on and the one that they are so afraid of beating them and he's only 4th in mins played?

Watch what people do and not what they say.

Occams Razor. Sometimes the simplest explanation is likely the most accurate. Poor numbers across the board. Wasn't in foul trouble yet still the coach decided that 3 other players (the ones who were supposedly letting him down) deserved to be out on the court more. But yet the guy who was playing exactly how they wanted and creating all these opportunities for everyone had 4 games where he played 30 mins or less.

    Make it make sense.

What a load of horse dung, he was playing scared, not attacking and not being aggressive, he is a deer in headlights.

The lengths some go to make their favorite player look less like the wallflower he was....is astounding.

Jalen NUTTED UP, he was scared, he cowered in the corner instead of fought.

He has backed down when challenged his entire career....not sure why folks think he should play more, he should be 6th man at best.

Regarding Dillon's minutes - Also worth noting, Rockets had other guys who could be subbed in for Dillion that offer similar skills.

What Jalen theoretically offers, the Rockets have no one else (Ime didn't play Cam or Reed). With just an average SG, Jalen plays a LOT less in the series.

This is kinda like when every coach praises westbrook nonstop when in reality they can't wait to play against him. I'd be pissed if he wasn't saying this stuff though, it's part of the job so good on ime.

The question is, why didn't the Warriors focus their defense on Sengun? Or did they? Sengun was our leading scorer in the series. Commonsense would think that they should try their best to stop him.

And it's not like if they stopped Jalen, they'd guarantee to win. We took them to 7 games. We were not totally powerless if they were focusing on taking Jalen out of the game.

He back down when Booker went at him?
    Trae Young and Murray?
    Cade?

see you would have alil credibility if you didn’t just talk out your ass … He was following Ime gameplan - get off the ball and then clear the paint area for Alpi /Amen … he was standing in the corner waiting on kick out for corner 3 ….

They did focus on Sengun. He scored anyway. We focused on Curry. He scored anyway. We focused on Butler. He scored anyway. They mildly focused on Jalen and he cratered.

Read actions. Not words. If Jalen isnt being aggressively shopped I'd be shocked.

When has any team ever focused on stopping Alpi… 2 can’t hurt you… every shot he takes is a trip down floor the Rockets don’t take a 3 … you let him take those shot puts and floaters at under 20% all day and night and that’s what GS did.

Our coaching staff was too slow to place Bari in Alpi spot and Alpi in Amen spot and Amen in DB spot… that would of made GS pay when JG got off the ball

lol Ime would call your BS out to your face, so would Kerr and Draymond… but yeah “mildly”

I can’t imagine hating a player on my own team so much that I ignore what my eyes see, the coaches and players say

So you are saying that the Warriors were worried about Jalen shooting 3? He's a career below average 3pt shooter. I think even avid Jalen fans would agree that 3pt shooting isn't Jalen's strong suit. Why would that be the greatest threat to them?

    Weird take.

    Spot on.

It's also funny to see JOFs keep referring to Ime's comments. What else do you expect to hear from a coach? Ofcoz he will phrase his comments into the positive angle. Ofcoz he will not say Jalen was so inefficient and cost us the series. What he did is exactly most coaches will do...and it's for everybody's own good.

    Really naive argument.

no, when JG gets going it opens the offense up more than it does going through Alpi.. and JG 3pt shot also comes with that but it’s more about how it opens it up for everyone.

Ime felt Alpi had a advantage 4v3 and Alpi felt that also so he took the shots the majority of the time - which then limited the Rockets 3pt attempts

We shot 18 3pt shots in Game 7
    23 in Game 4
    28 in Game 3
    20 in Game 1

in every game we shot more than 30 3s we won …

Alpi should of been driving and kicking once he got the ball at FT line… instead he jacked up shotput after shotput

I don’t put that on Alpi just like I don’t put getting off the ball on JG … it’s what Ime has repeatly said he wanted the Rockets to do since Game 3

    Appreciate your effort @Mathloom

    Jalen Green ( NBA.com )
    "Play Type"...PnR (Ball Handler)
    22/23...........43.1 (freq)......0.87 (PPP)..........52.0 (NBA percentile)
    23/24...........39.3 (freq)......0.90 (PPP)...........61.9 (NBA percentile)
    24/25...........42.8 (freq)......0.92 (PPP)...........67.4 (NBA percentile)
    *Showing improvement each year
    VanVleet......36.4 (freq).....0.87 (PPP)...........53.5 (NBA percentile) [24/25]

In the playoffs (PnR ball handler)
    24/25..................freq..................PPP....................(NBA percentile)
    Jalen Green........28.0.................1.10.............................80.0
    VanVleet.............28.9.................1.27.............................89.3

    *Giannis...............16.1.................1.29.............................91.1
    SGA......................40.4.................1.05.............................73.2
    Jamal Murray......35.2.................1.04.............................71.4
    Brunson...............41.1.................1.04.............................67.9
    Tatum..................30.9.................0.99.............................64.3
    Jaylen Brown......17.8.................0.89.............................50.0
    Ant-Man...............16.2…..............0.84.............................35.7

I stand by the notion that the Warriors were blitzing Jalen Green to get the ball
out of his hands. VanVleet was the benefactor of JG4 being blitzed.

So some of these players are facing stronger defense as the playoffs progress, but the
Warriors were #1 in defense from the point where they obtained Butler.

*Giannis would attract a lot of the gravity of the defense.....giving Jalen Green more
space (as Amen forces teams to address him creeping along the baseline).

People praise him for being honest?

The guy who can't do anything but blame the players in post-game press conferences?

Sounds like you're the one who is having trouble with their narrative.

Hell yes, regular season is meaningless he backed down and cowered in the corner when it mattered most.
