Both of you are right. This team needs more shooting and more pace. We should’ve addressed both during the course of the year, but we are stuck now. We can’t really fix the shooting other than playing Jabari more and actually passing it to him. We can correct the pace, but Ime is way too stubborn to do what is necessary in that regard. At the very least, FVV should be parked in the corner on offense and Amen should be given the reins from the beginnng. If he sh*ts the bed we lose, but we are going to lose with FVV and Jalen dribbling the shot clock away 40 feet out anyway. I would give a ton o I think we can bully the hell out of them and their “wall”. Just not with Jalen. Amen, Jabari, Sengun, Dillon can all Man don’t use that +/- stat. It is so bogus. It’s ok to say Jalen played good on defense and sucked on offense. His teammates picked him up this game. Maybe he can return the favor next game. What I did like is that Ime did not ride him when riding him was the wrong thing to do. I hate when people use that stat, because it really doesn’t mean a damn thing from game to game.
Jalen was ok tonight. He was not good offensively but didn't let that hold him down. He's being aggressive on the boards and active on defense with solid rotations. Visually communicating well. I hope he does well game 7
He was ok overall becoz we win. If we lose, it would have been another disaster game he had. He should buy FVV and Adams a drink tonight. Game 7, he better stand up and stop humiliating the word "Shooting Guard" by scoring more than 15 points.
I am so ready for another nuclear Jalen performance in game 7. Give me another game 2 type game please.
He lost confidence on offense, can’t make shots and is slow to read double teams and make the right pass out of them. I am losing hope for him to develop playmaking skills. İt is best he decreases his usage and pick his spots wisely.
Don't worry man I'm aware of the limitations of the stat and how to read it. It's wrong to use it to decide Jalen was the best player just because he had the best +/-. The way to read that is if Jalen is naturally the weakest link on defense and he was not carrying offense, then he must have been playing good defense for him to be part of some excellent lineups. If you understand how the game is split offense and defense, it can give you some information. Just not the information people hope it is - it's not telling of the overall play and the individual gravity.
The Warriors have been picking on him specifically the whole series because they sense that he is easily rattled. He needs to attack the basket and try to draw fouls for easy buckets to get his confidence up. Stop with the passing when two feet from the bucket and STOP with that damn bounce passing at the wrong time. His teammates are trying to keep him here and if he wants to stay, you’ll see on Sunday if he wants it or not.
He was part of the reason the team won. He did a lot of things defensively like closing in on Curry and preventing Butler from getting rebounds and putbacks. In fact, every time Rox pulled away Jalen was on the court thats why he had the highest plus minus. He doesnt need to buy FVV and Adams a drink as he pulled his own weight and contributed to the win same as those 2 guys, Amen, Jabari, Tari and Sengun. His offense def needs to improve but acting he only did a good or average job tonight is just wrong. This game is a litmus test of your bball understanding, if you dont think Jalen did a great job tonight you dont know ball.
Jalen is still playing starters minutes in all of these games. He absolutely must be doing something right.
I find the kid hard to dislike .... he seems like a good person, he's a hard worker by all reports, takes accountability and is very self aware.
C'mon this is the ultimate 'he is a great kid but not a great player' kind of talk.....no need to go there. Either respect him as a player or not.....it is that simple on a bball forum. 33 million reasons to like or dislike him.
When I pointed out Jalen was the the main responsible person for Game 1, extremist fans:"Others played bad also!" When I pointed out that others played much better in Game 6, extremist fans:"Jalen contributed as well!" Yeah, continue to do that. You guys logic is unbeatable. Do you guys ever try not finding excuses for Jalen? Blame coach, blame FVV, blame Amen, Sengun and Adams together on the court can't shoot, pack the paint making Jalen uncomfortable. The Game 6 is like a slap on your guys face. Yes, Jalen's defense was solid second half of Game 6 I can give you that, but his offense was still lagging way behind. His offense performance except Game 2 is totally unacceptable. Do not say he was ok or average. If he can be average, we are already in the second round. It's always mainly on him who needs to work hard to improve, it's never about others. And yes, I don't have bball understanding, I don't know ball, you know better, ofcoz.
Can you please point out specific plays where he was good defensively. At the moment it seems like you're making baseless claims to try to paint Jalen in a good like. Because apart from one single contested shot on a Warriors 3, I can't recall thinking a single play where I thought 'good play defensively Jalen'. Or is this another case of Jalen fans hyping up the bare minimum to make him look good, because he doesn't do anything else to warrant it?
Yes you have low bball understanding. Suggest you watch the game again. Blaming Jalen as the main culprit for game 1 just shows you have consistently made the wrong read since the series started. From the posts I've seen Jalen fans dont blame anybody else, usually the Reed stans are the ones blaming others for Reed's bad performance. Jalen fans know his offense sucked. But there are two sides to the ball, what Jalen did on defense more than made up for his bad offense. This should be obvious to anyone who watched the game unless that person doesnt know ball. Game 6 is a slap to Jalen fan's face? Dude played 32 mins and had +20. Its the slap to Jalen haters like you. Ime knows bball thats why he played Jalen so much.
I think they're going to change their coverage on him and live with him going one-on-one against some of their lesser defenders. Jalen is going to have to win those matchups. I seriously doubt he's going to see any double teams on Sunday.
If he isnt doing anything defensively why is he +20 the highest on the team when he shot horribly on the court and only 3 ast to 1 to? He was bricking his shots and wasnt generating points for others, so why do you think he got higher plus than even Steven Adams and FVV who were our best players tonight? Magic? lol Just cuz you didnt see it doesnt mean its not there it is pretty clear you are extremely biased against Jalen not a surprise you missed everything good that he did.
