There was no defense corp for rookie Jalen Green and he played better than Reed for most of the season. There werent a lot of people saying Jalen Green shot 38% in GLeague so he is a better shooter than he is shooting. In fact there were lots of comments hating on Jalen almost every game and saying we picked the bust over Evan Mobley. You even had posters like Bobby saying Jalen would be the next Corey Brewer. The same is true for Jabari only Reed has his defense corp even if he had played worse than Rookie Jabari and Jalen for most of the year.
Sure but if you come at me with a totally different tangent you should also understand why I wouldnt get what you are saying since it is not what I was talking about.
Can Whitmire only gets garbage time minutes so yes it's not surprising his defensive rating is higher. He's out there playing against scrubs. I have always felt Dillon's defense is overrated. We didn't miss a beat when he was injured. He's really more out there for his toughness and shooting. Just like Jalen there is a specific type of player he can defend because he isn't as quick as he needs to be and gets called for too many fouls.
so he is the 2nd worst defender after Jack MCveigh? Jeff Green, Aaron Holiday and Jock Landale also only got scrub minutes but they are all below Cam Whitmore?
Huh? All that matters is how well the team defends, that’s what the score is based on. Brooks is very good at man to man defense, and spectacular as a post defender. He’s an awful rebounder and a complete zero as a help defender, and a complete zero as a rim protector. Because of that, he doesn’t help your overall defense all that much, thus his metrics never look too good.
Not really Jeff Green average 12 mins, Jock Landale 11 mins, 12.8 mins, Whitmore average 16 mins. Also you havent answered my question is DB the 2nd worst defender on this team after Jack Mcveigh?
If he is a good man to man defender he is helping the team defense by locking up the opposing best player. Help defense is important but so is POA defense right? If def rating doesnt measure your individual defensive impact why do they even have a defensive rating for every individual player?
He helps the team is some ways, hurts the team in other ways. Your defensive rating is how many points the team gives up when you are on the court. Basketball is a team sport though, you’re not the only one on the court.
So the rating is flawed case closed. No matter how DB "hurts" the team I fail to see how he is the 2nd worst defender only better than Mcveigh. Considering how Mcveigh only played a couple of games that would make DB the worst defender on the Rockets which is even more absurd
what does average minutes have to do with anything. Did you watch the rockets at all this year? Jeff green played a ton of minutes when guys were out while cam was glued to the bench. Same with holiday. Same with Landale. All of those guys started games for us.
What does starting have to do woth mins? Also this is the nth time I am asking this you think DB is the 2nd worst defender on the Rockets only beaten by Mcveigh? Just answer this first before we continue.
He needs to watch tonight film and understand if he doesn’t develop or use a floater vs GS it’s going to be a long long series
truthfully it’s not that bad cause remember when Boston first lost, everyone was saying JB had no left hand etc etc etc …. Then he put in work and came back way better their championship season
