Problem is Jalen has no middy. It's literally the worst shot in basketball when he takes it. Cuz he shooting like 25%

25% is an exaggeration. But yeah, it's weird. He looks better by the eye test. But his shooting percentage from 10ft out to the 3pt line is the worst in his career. Good thing he doesn't shoot those very much.

too many of the ones he takes is because he’s trying to get to rim, runs into a wall, stops then spins / fades into a shot… when he gets the ball and knows he’s going to take the shot - he hits them at a good clip, specially the baseline fade ….

I want him to take more around the FT line and develop a floater - he hit 2-3 floaters vs Minn I was shocked

and Cade still manages to be the significantly better player

let’s not act like if Jalen was currently averaging 26, 6, and 9 on 45/35/85 splits this board wouldn’t be convinced he’s a future all-time great

A left wing salute would just be heartless.

Lol the facts don't back that up. He is making more than he was in the beginning of the year when he was at like 10%. But he doesn't make more than he misses. It's not a good shot at all.

We have two lowest basketball iq players whole NBA in Jalen and Cam..
They have zero understanding about winning basketball.. l don't care , Jalen can score his empty stats with 25 points with 24 shots... unless you win.. Udoka knows nothing about offensive basketball.. Jalen can not dribble and playmake but he still has ball in his hands.. result? This...

Guess it's come up a bit the last few weeks. It's probably more like 30% but still absolute trash.

    10-16ft, 16-3p
    21-22: .333, .381
    22-23: .467, .368
    23-24: .353, .424
    24-25: .234, .359

You are right about the 10-16ft range. He's under .250. 10ft-3p combined average is .320. That's an extremely inefficient shot. He's not a good midrange shooter, at least not the way he shoots it.

These days a mid-ranger is more like a floater, because defenses are good enough where you're not getting a straight jumpshot from that range. And you really need to have some wiggle to get off a good shot here. Amen and Sengun both has moves to get off good shots in this range. Jalen just doesn't have one and never developed one unfortunately. Whereas on long-2s he could shoot a normal jumpshot which he's at least decent at.

A left wing salute is just a military salute, we fought off the Right wing Facists in WW2...and will do it again if necessary.

His long 2s are only slightly more accurate than his 3s. I think most of his middies are desperate shots when he gets run off from the 3pt line and the lane is too crowded to drive.

Jalen needs to learn how to change direction and speed when he gets inside the arc. All the great 2pt scoring guards (e.g. CP3, SGA, Booker) knows how to get open snaking through that space. In today's NBA, that midrange space is open because everybody is trying to defend the "3 or layup" drill. The middie is still not an efficient shot. But having that shot accurately will keep the defense honest and open up driving lanes.

With all due respect but these kind of discussions are useless right now. Rockets need all hands on deck and for all their current players to raise their game, we need all of them committed to same goal right now which is stacking some wins together.

Trade talk can resume in offseason.

Fans are the last to embrace the business side of things because they are the most invested emotionally, even those that invested the real money are not that into it.
