its not about Green straight up its the several other pieces that are included in the deal. Most certainly one or both of the terror Twins will have to be included. Im not a big Booker believer. His defense is questionable to me although it has improved thru the years and he had a small window for 2-3 yrs to win it with a great Suns team and couldn’t do it. Very overrated player in my opinion.
I think you have to make Tari, Amen and Sengun untouchable and offer any combo of the other core players and picks. If you add Brooker to Fred, Dillon, Sengun, Tari, Amen, and say one more core piece, that’s a contending team.
Sometimes it’s the system as well. MIN tried to make Wiggins the num 1 guy there and tried for 5.5 years. Wiggins could score and very talented but wasn’t necessarily a num 1 option as MIN found out. With the Warriors he was in a supporting role and didn’t have to start the offense simplifying his game to shooting 3s and driving when open. I don’t know completely what’s going on with Green. I know Udoka gave Green more opportunities in the first few games but have now reverted to the 2 man FVV Sengun game. I think much of it is how the Rockets play.
to sell high, I guess. and Jalen surely isn't the product... Ime 'still' has a player he'd want to acquire, Stone would want some splashy deal to stamp his presence as a GM.. owner won't pay luxury tax just for youngsters on the rise.. lot's of possible things that could be going on.. Cam being stashed away in GL.. Smith jr. not featured enough unlike someone last year[chance to play for extension money] -- and he's slowly being tasked to defend against bigs.. he could be a stretch 5 in training. and Jalen having an ''ineffecient'' run again -- after a good start this season following up his late season March madness.. surely these three youngsters aren't for sale 'cause their trade value is soooo loooow [right now]
Green needs a pg next to him that can create and push in transition, that would really unlock him offensively and play to his athleticism. If we can’t get that we will eventually have to trade him because we are not maximizing his skill set.
This year the team is about consolidating both the half court and the running transition game....so you would also not be seeing just 100% Alpe going to work down low either because of guys like Clingan, Edey, others that give him problems. Udoka is not catering to one player only.
No you don't. When Sengun is in we basically play a "Drop Coverage" Sengun moves forward and backwards in the restricted area. Big deal. That's like playing someone checkers that never moves his back row pieces. When you have lengthy players like Jabari, Tari, Amen, Jalen, Dillon Brooks, Tate protecting his flanks.....even a bafoon would look good. It's when teams go small and Sengun can't hide defensively near the rim when Sengun gets exposed as still too slow. SAPs like you are over inflating Sengun defense for his four steps forward, two steps back in the he paint.....everyone else swarming D. Big Effin Deal. When guys are rotating defensively and Sengun doesn't have both flanks protected...... opponents euro-step Sengun into oblivion.
And he shouldn’t cater to one player with this team we have. I was just pointing out that we would get more out of Jalen offensive pushing and getting out on the break.
Jalen is giving us nothinggggggggggggggggggggg. So many wide open shots to stop the momentum and just bricks.
He has, I don’t disagree with you there. Green’s strength coming into the league and still today is his athletic ability. He has never been a great shooter and still isn’t as of yet.
