Jalen has low BBall IQ - that is just a fact. No situational awareness, when he doesn't touch it he just has to get a shot up regardless if others are open. He is just NEVER going to be a Superstar, I hope we can trade him for one in the future. He is Isaiah Rider part 2. DD
Probably the worst fourth quarter I've seen someone play in terms of just straight up bricking everything and continues to throw up dumb shots over and over again. At some point you might as well just let Tari and Amen hoist it up
He is going to attempt 16-18 Threes soon. Book it. Never seen someone fall in love with the 3 ball so much.
there was one fastbreak where tari had the ball and was bringing it up court. then FOR SOME WEIRD REASON, jalen went over to meet tari and BLOCKED tari's way! LOL BRUH! They almost bumped into each other and cause a turnover. Luckily Tari just ignored him and drove straight to the bucket and got a layup. jalen, stop thinking you can only be effective when the ball is in your hand!
Jalen Green is the sort of dynamic scorer who only plays up to his potential 1 quarter a game. You just never know what quarter he is going to off in. But he's also the only one of the Rockets guards capable of going off completely unassisted like that.
I really wish Jalen could do this. This is honestly what I thought he would be by now. NGL Im disappointed but atleast the team is winning.
The 3 ball is madly in love with these guys they the ones who should be shooting 10+ threes a game instead of just 5 Kyrie Irving 5.5 54.1 Antony Towns 5.4 50.8 Pascal Siakam 4.8 47.2 LeBron James 5.5 45.9 Jalen Williams 4.8 42.1 Lauri Markkanen 5.4 42.1
Not his best game and we've been having to say that a little bit too much. Still just showing up to work like a professional. They’re not using him properly and he’s not complaining. If the offense is coughing up 14 semi-contested 3's, your offense kind of sucks. Your SG has to take the mediocre shot because it's a "good" shot. You drafted and developed a guy who is better at everything else other than shooting. It's like designing an offense that constantly results in a semi-contested 3 for Morant, and then blaming him for not being a catch and shoot guy. You have Ja Morant. Use the f*cking guy's skills or design that shot to go to someone else. Also Green is often missing open players when these shots are available - there's no way a JG 3PTer is a better shot than a wide open 3PTer/drive from his teammtes. We're stuck in between two worlds right now and the new world - Tari and Amen - is swallowing up the old world - Brooks and Bari. I'm DYING to see what happens if you replace our relatively slowest player (Brooks) with Tari or Amen. You can raise the average speed/pace of the team dramatically, and generate a lot more shots with defenders backpedaling or on their heels, reducing the over-reliance on 3PTers, which in turn would raise our 3PT%. Anyways, Udoka is super risk averse and it will unfortunately take almost half a season for it to click for him. As I've said before, Udoka is the Jalen Green of the coaching world. Every season in the NBA so far, he's a post-ASB guy. In the meantime, Green needs to keep playing defense, keep rebounding, keep playing hard and take the shots Udoka is comfortable with - public criticism be damned. Yes it will for sure hold back his efficiency from improving further, but that's what the brotherhood needs from you right now. Stay in coach's good graces till he figures out the offense. What a season unfolding here.
And what do you notice about each one of them? They all serve their teams well as drivers, draw the gravity of the defense, kick out. Jalen Green should be that with Sengun predominantly. But we lack the 3-pt shooters around them right now. So Green is being asked to carry the team as far as spacing. Jabari is slumping and VanVleet, Dillon, Tari, Amen, Sheppard are all kinda iffy. The Sengun, Jalen Green with Giannis could be our 3 stars moving forward and just keep adding shooters around them. Like just add water. Giannis with Amen and Tari......forget about it.
Why did Jalen never learn to shoot? Like how? Literally the only thing he needed to get better at this offseason to take a leap. Who is his mentor? What are the Rockets telling him? I have questions, because to me, Amen and Tari are better players already.
Amen is a better playmaker and a much better rim finisher. It's only a matter of time before he becomes a better shooter. Jalen has just been a shooting flatline. Good for 1-2 quarters a game and that's it. His playmaking is the same. His shooting is the same. His defense is much improved. His turnovers and loose handle remain. He shot 14 3s yesterday. Out of 21 shots. How is your superpower your first step and leaping ability and you just resort to chucking long distance shots you can't even hit? He has no chemistry with anyone except himself. He runs the two man game with Sengun because he has to not because he wants to. Reminds me of Rafer and Jeremy Lin....except with them they never had the superstar ability. So it wasn't this level of annoying.
I know he had a bad TO game the other night without Fred but he's been facilitating really well the past couple of nights. Love the fast break passes.. too bad he's been unlucky with the misses and poor FG%. He will end this season averaging a career high in APG mark this post.
