I know this is coming from left field but I wish Green returned to his fro haircut from last season.

I'm encouraged by his more matured approach. I see less of that "playing for the cameras", social media world flexing & celebrating that Ive never cared for about Jalen. More business-like approach like Amen Thompson does. Make the plays and stay on task.

It doesnt mean Jalen wasnt committed & mature. But its that natural part of 19 & 20 year olds even on the highest level, that they'll have that little bit of youthfulness thats not quite settled in. (Cam Whitmore an example of that. Besides his alpha assertiveness & body, he's like a 15 year old at times). Lets see if this holds up through November

Loved seeing him dive on the floor for a loose ball late in the game.

He certainly had that look about him towards the end of the game last night. His entire demeanour just oozed star player vibes. The scowl on his face, the swagger in his walk. If he can tap into that extra gear more often we may even be able to see some success despite the piss-poor offensive "gameplan."

Exactly, he knows who he is now. We need to build around him. When he goes to the bench, I lose so much confidence in this team. This is why drafted him 2nd behind Cade and over Mobley

I mean we are three games into the season and one cold shooting week can make people instantly reverse their takes on Green but most of the stuff Green is doing well right now is repeatable like his defense, taking care of the ball, attacking the rim etc. The most hopeful part about right now is that all his advanced impact numbers are by far and away career highs like in wins shares, BPM etc(way too early in the season I get it) while not being on a hot streak. That tells me Green is now being a high positive impact player without just relying on being hot because Green is definitely not on a hot streak now and is still playing at a very good level which is something you couldn't say in past seasons. In past seasons, he would have to be on a hot streak to have positive impact.

I don't want to declare victory until he's getting all-star or all-nba consideration.

That’s fair! I’m not just basing it on the first 3 games, but also the finish last season. Idk man, it just looks like he has arrived. He does things nobody else on this team can.

Definitely. Like I said, the fact that Green isn't shooting amazingly right now and still has this high level of positive impact tells me this is sustainable. 19-21 year old Green to have positive impact would have to be hot from the field. This is what Ime meant by wanting Green to be an all-around player... A player who can positively impact without just relying on streakiness. And that is what we are seeing now from Green.

Yeah you're not wrong, it's no longer reliant on him having one of those insane monster offensive performances he'd have a few times a year where he shot the lights out and did what very few players at all can actually do. Now he's just a damn good player...who still has the potential to go off for those huge games WHILST being a solid defender with hustle and commitment to actually playing a full game regardless of whether he's shooting well or not. Idgaf any more, last night was straight up Mamba Mentality, and he looks more like Kobe than Sengun remotely looks like Jokic. It's not close right now.

Defense defense defense. It’s the 50% of the game impacting the stats that goes unnoticed. An improvement in defense is much more likely to move the needle in terms of making an impact on the court. That’s like improving your entire offensive repertoire.

His defensive improvement is really out of nowhere. If he can sustain 80-90% of it for the season, it will make waves for us in the Wins column. Same logic for his shooting. If he’s playing above average defense and making 37% of his 3’s the rest of his game will fall into place nicely and his teammates will have an easier time scoring. Assuming those metrics and the same finishing at the rim as last season (not ideal) he would end up having a highly positive impact on games.

Was so close to snatching victory back from the Spurs today. We’ll get them next time.

Now we've just got to hope nobody else snatches him from us with a big incentive loaded max contract and endorsement offers whilst playing near all of his friends and family to be their next Kobe when he's up for an extension in a couple years...

who gives a fuuck about efficiency when you have the oppurtunity to give your team 3 pts?

nothing is more selfish then holding the ball because your selfishly worried about your %s.

Even at only 10%, taking the shot is always the correct play. Its why teams play 2 for 1s and try to gain a possession. To squander it just because your worried about statistics is asinine.

Winning doesn't matter, only TS%!! Such is the gospel of Morey. It's why all these guys would rate Reggie Miller and Harden over MJ and Kobe despite 11 to 0 in ring ratio.

Jalen Green setting the tone on defense wasn't even on the bingo card but I'm happy to see it. I'm impressed with his season so far, even as a fan who thought he had it in him. He's climbing the ranks of the NBA playing like this, if he ratchets up the efficiency even a little bit?

This version of Jalen Green will replace FVV. And I can simultaneously appreciate Fred's qualifications and leadership *and also* definitely don't want to see him playing 39mpg like ever again. And while we're at it, I'd appreciate not ever again seeing Fred dribbling 20 seconds off the clock before hot-potato-ing someone else. That's as good as a turnover to me and he has a solid handful of them every game. Seeing only 2 credited last night, I'd consider that a 7 TO game from big bro. You're the leader and you're tired because you're older and playing too many gd minutes so you dribble the clock down to 4 without initiating **** besides a chuck? You take that shot lumberjack Fred.

We are 1-2 - we lack a decent defense, a decent offense, and our coach has no clue how to coach offense.

There is no "HIM" on the team.....anywhere ATM.
