Apologies if this has been posted already. I've seen smaller clips of this but not this longer work out video. Love the insights he's getting from the coach and did they intentionally get a Sengun look alike for that PNR and DHO action .... I also like the coaches' points on changing his pace and getting him to feel what proper balance feels like. Applying the things they are focusing on in this video is the key to unlocking the next level for JG IMHO...
Yeah he's taking a leap this year. Dash is an elite trainer. Is that d-book trying to holler at draya?
Lol nah. Jalen had a fresh start last year and mucked up 80% of his games. A fresh start means clean slate and you have the year to prove yourself. Jalen absolutely doesn't have that runway anymore. Jabari does but he too will lose that if he looks the same as last year. Or in Jalen's case...worse. Jalen gets a few months at best.
Can big contracts be put into an expansion draft? If Jalen Green then gets drafted by the expansion team, his salary gets removed from our cap completely? Sounds like good insurance, if the expansion team chooses to select him.
Im so confused about the misdirection around his finishing at the rim #s. 0-3 feet is 21% of his shot diet at 69%. Are they extending out to 10ft and including push shots and baby jumpers? It sure seems that way as hes not good at 3-10ft shots shooting 34%. First infographic was worded "layups" so did they remove dunks from the equation or something? @heypartner looks to have tried to do some math on his own and got his own seperate number but for drives only? Or why is it in between the 2 poles. Seems all very convoluted and a big reason why people say statistics can lie. I'm not even trying to say Jalen is great at finishing at the rim here either. If i want to know how a player finished "at the rim" im looking 0-3ft. Why is there all this noise? Im genuinely confused. efficiency from 3-10ft can speak to how a player finishes a possession, or even finishes a drive and can lead to answers about success rate at getting to the rim. But doesnt answer a question of how he finishes at the rim
I do not have a problem with him starting no more but he has to take less shots......there were times he was in a shooting slump and he still averages the 2nd most Shot attempts on the team even when he was benched. He averages tons of shots although Udoka was proactive in reducing his minutes. It is almost indelibly lodged into his mind that he has to take 16+ Shots every game......give those shots to Jabari. This stems from his rookie year when he proclaimed himself a Bucket.......tired of that tirade.
No this is really a product of a guard who can get of a shot at will vs a pf with stiffness with footwork and handles where you have to set him up more for a shot. It's really that simple.
Hey BigMaloe Does this link help? It's from basketball-reference.com but when you tab "shooting" it then takes you to a player profile of that individual on NBA.com https://www.nba.com/player/1630224/jalen-green/
I've done a Jalen Green vs Devin Booker being the same basically their first 3 seasons: Here it is broken down stat for star by the site: https://stathead.com//basketball/ve...layer_id2=bookede01&p2yrfrom=2016&p2yrto=2018
I'm having trouble linking just the page I wanted. If you haven't figured it out yet: 1) Jalen page on basketball-refetence.com https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/g/greenja05.html 2) you'll see 24/25 player projections then Per Game (stats) right underneath you will read "view stats on NBA.com" 3) press "Shooting" (next to "Player Front") It will take you to detailed breakdown of his shooting
Issue for the Rockets is that outside of the Sengun PnR and Jalen Green iso ball, they didn't have much in terms of offensive creation. Jabari was largely an afterthought in the offense. He also wasn't good enough at self creation. But I mainly agree. Jalen needs to earn those shots and the ball needs to go through FVV/Sengun/Amen. I don't think Ime is an idiot though. He knows the team can ill afford another inefficient season from the SG position.
Vecenie called the Rockets the 2nd most intriguing team to watch next season below the Thunder. And I think they should lean towards the Thunder at least as for the Guard Rotation because obviously you cannot copy Hartenstein and Chet Holmgren. The Combination of Reed, Amen and Cam should open up a lot of space on Offense as well, being confident in that. Tari can wreak havoc on them boards and pressing the ball. Obviously the fire power is not the same as the Thunder have but everything else might be to a smaller degree. I wouldn't mind to be called the Baby Thunder or Thunder 2.0.....if it works.
@BigMoe https://www.nba.com/stats/player/1630224/shooting There i linked it, finally figured it out. It will tell you everything you wanted to know. Really is information overload. But for me it's like being a kid in a candy store.
Jalen Green barely has any iso possessions compared to pnr possessions. That is 10% of his possession type diet. Pnr ball handler is almost 50% of his possession type diet. Amen's most efficient possession type are the ones without the ball in his hands like roll man, or dunker spot role. The most efficient possessions for Green are on ball one ball handler possessions. The least efficient possession type for Green is spot ups. The problem with the Rockets offense is their two most talented offensive players suck without the ball in their hands(Sengun and Green)
