Love it. Shouldve had more shots attempted but idk why we didnt see him shooting more in the 2nd half.
Yes. Sengun has monster games, typically others play well around him due to his natural ability to give up the ball whilst drawing defenders. Jabari can get his points in the flow of the offense. Fred can too, albeit sometimes he can get a few shots too many up as well. Jalen can't. Jalen needs to be force fed. The entire offense needs to stop and look for Jalen to get him going. It doesn't even need to be this way - the best thing about the past few games from Jalen is he is making quicker decisions in the break before the defense is set and he's getting easier buckets. He can still do this whilst the offense runs smoothly and everyone remains a threat. Sengun is the teams best player - he was not a threat at all in the first half when he was asked to catch the ball on the perimeter and to never use his speed advantage and his lethal ability of penetrating against bigs from the outside - instead all he did was catch and look for where Green is and get him the ball. And then people wonder why he had a subpar game. All the more bizarre when it wasn't even too long ago Sengun lit up the Pelicans and the Rockets got the W. Green's big games are not correlating to wins because the entire offense grounds to a halt around him. I pray to god it's to pump his value up for a trade. The league has seen a dime a dozen shot-heavy guards who do nothing but score, little else, and don't win. It'll be a shame if we're forced to watch one for the next few years.
Jalen Green averages more ppg and has a higher usage rate in wins than losses. This is such an absurd take that has no reflection on on court basketball analysis. A lot of Green dominate possessions aren't even iso possessions. They are two man game dho and pnr possessions with Sengun usually. And they were generating good looks that they usually make. Those possessions generated a lot of open threes also. Sengun missed so many attempts at the rim he normally makes.
I think the Fred and Sengün combo is gradually failing and figured out. We need something more......... Jalen Green is not enough as well. The Lakers were inconsistent as well and we caught them when they were playing bad..... as Cam and Amen are still not consistent enough to win consistently yet. I think we can barely make the 10th or 9th seed but have to pray that other teams fail ......
Jalen and Sengun two man game is more dynamic and has a significantly higher ceiling. It's hopefully what the go to possessions are by the end of the season. FVV would have done his job correctly slowly giving the reigns to Green.
I definitely think teams are defending it better no doubt. I also think it's being defended better by the players on the other team who aren't guarding Fred or Alpi - because they know how sorry the Rockets are from the perimeter. The paint is being packed an awful lot more it seems. It's going to be an absolute utter failure if the shooting isn't addressed this trade deadline. They will be literally hamstringing their best player and in return the entire team if they don't. Sengun's passing opens up the floor for every other person out there regardless of whether they're the intended recipient or not. Jalen with his recently found ability to finish at the rim - making quick decisions against a scattered defense in the halfcourt... like I said Stone better be fixing this issue quickly.
You know folks (uptown brickster etc) are rattled when they dislike a player (on a team they root for) so much that they create fake scenarios where a player scores his points in the half court when the defense isn't set But Green is beating his man easily getting to the paint or using two man game with Sengun/J Green to get something going So I guess Luka and everybody else scores all their points against defenses that are not set and scattered And in about a week the other teams are going to rest key players and get ready for the playoffs so Green can look good Not realizing many teams are fighting for a play in//off slot, even the Jazz, so many games will be meaningful, especially in the west, and Rockets are on schedule and building internally like Ime said
