Ridiculous to put any blame on Jalen this game. Every non-tanking team for the rest of the season is going to assault Jalen on a nightly basis. If FVV and Brooks don’t step up during this next stretch of games it just goes to show that they were what they thought they were, stop gaps until Amen, Cam, and Tari are ready. Also, we can expect the refs to continue to handicap us until GS is all but insured the last play-in. We are effectively 3 games out with 8 to play. We have to go 6-2 and the warriors 2-6 to make the play-in. Fat chance.
Especially after other teams now see it worked really effectively when Kidd employed the blitz and double on Green constantly. A lot of it is others have to step up and make the right plays off those doubles and part of it is Green sometimes needs to let go of the ball quicker Sometimes he thinks he can beat the double and holds on to it for a bit.
I will take that as a legitimate criticism of Jalen. We will see how/if he an Ime adjust, because every team that cares is going to do it.
Jalen was due for an iffy game and it wasn't even that bad. 5/15 and he wasn't the biggest issue. Moving on.
Zach Lowe touched on the Rockets today. He ended it with saying something along the lines of "I think think the ship has sailed on other teams trying to see if they could get a home run by getting Green low when they had the assets to do it in the trade deadline and they will regret it from here on out" he wasn't even referring to the Nets. Just a lot of teams in general who don't have anything promising in terms of a future star. And yes this was after the Mavs game.
the Mavs game was an overdue for the whole team--not just to JG it was a much needed reset to restart another run and yes, the ship has already sailed
We'd be lucky to get a second rounder and a bag of chips. He's not an NBA caliber player, didn't you know?
I gave Jalen a lot of **** for his late-game turnovers against the Wolves, but I honestly do think his shot LOOKS a lot better. He's shooting with confidence, not jumping as high on the non-quarter-ending shots, and his stepback has become deadly because he just creates so much damn space. Even when he misses now, I feel like if he just hits one...the opponents had better not let him get another look.
