Stone was never a trade deadline guy, he mostly made his moves in the Offseason.

We should be looking to swap GMs if we are looking at deadline trades.

    Witus next.

Ime knows what’s up. He’s just hoping that he can bring it out of him. Come on Jalen…let’s come back and win this thing.

DO NOT TRADE JALEN. Wow do we overreact to one bad series. He’s young and improving by spades. Amazing how everyone gives Stone a free pass when he created this disaster of a squad, but Jalen has a few bad games and it’s an all out attack.

    Summarised it well.

    He is only 19 +4.

Jimmy Butler is a tough guy.

I have no problem trading Jalen for good value but would prefer to give him another year.

Ime is not going to want Trae, he's a defensive liability. Trae is a better offensive player and playmaker but Jalen plays better defense.

Jalen is not an offensive slouch, he's just inconsistent. I just think he needs to get with Dillon Brook's shooting coach.

Is it so we can bundle him into a blacked out car never to be seen again? **** no, I don't want Steph, Draymond or any of the rest of them either

Before the Rockets trade Jalen, I would like to see them hire an offensive coach. I wonder how he would flourish under a MDA type coach

Even if Jalen goes off for 40 the next 3 games and we win but then has 4 games of 9 and we lose the next series I would still want to trade Jalen.

I would rather have someone who we can count on for 20 pts every game with defense than someone as inconsistent as Jalen. Basketball is such a rhythm game. You need players who can keep a rhythm. Which reminds me of my high school rock band and midway through “Born to be Wild” the drummer completely forgot how to keep the beat. Terrible. Thanks for triggering my trauma Jalen. Lift off!

It would be super easy to build a competitive team around an Amen / Ant / Sengun core.

How much do folks think Jalen has hurt his value as a result of his poor playoff performances? I believe his value was the highest it had been post-rookie season heading into the playoffs. I’m assuming Jalen can’t return top 4 lotto value; maybe mid-late lotto value now given that his big extension money is kicking in. What do folks think?

Good Lord. Which season is he in? By now he's showed himself to be a supersub 6th man of the year type. That's about it.

Can we find the next ascending SGA-type guard to pair with Amen and Sengun? Who is that next ascending player in the league that is conceivably available? You know that our failings in the playoffs would only give Phoenix more incentive to raise the asking price of Booker who I doubt is available any way. We have to take a swing on an ascending guard, so who is it?

    Coby White?
    Tre Young? (Already a star)
LeMello? (Already a star with huge injury risk)
    Jalen Suggs?
    Ja? (Already a star)
    Jamal Murray?
    Cason Wallace?

I can’t think of anyone else that could realistically become available, save for Harden, who obviously isn’t a long-term solution.

I agree with those that say give him until the deadline to make it a no brainer. The Rockets really need to figure out the offensive side of the ball this summer. That is its own thread though. I have never taken to Jalen. I wanted Mobley at the time (see my posts from back in the day) and never took to him even though I supported him as a Rockets fan and hoped he'd turn out. But the makeup of the team really doesnt give him the best chance at success. He has never solved the packed paint defense and the Rockets dont have the personnel or the scheme to punish teams for doing just that. Either Stone needs to bring in guys who can spell Sengun and Amen and open things up for Jalen or Ime needs to bring in an assistant to install an offense that can keep the defense honest given our players weaknesses. Again, both other threads which Id love someone to start.

If dealing Jalen is the decision I would love to figure out a way to move him to Sacramento. I think a deal centered around Green for Monk and Keon Ellis could work for both sides. I'd also like to see some scenario where the Rockets moved off Green and brought in Quentin Grimes. As one of the posters above said though, you dont sell low after buying high and investing the time and resources into a player like Green. Make some changes and see if there is a way to unlock him before giving up and getting back pennies on the dollar (the dollar being the #2 pick).
