Imagine trying this hard to **** on your own team's players? I guess it should be expected considering you took your name from another team's star player, definitely a garbage tier "fan."
Believe or not, this dunk contest could raise his profile with the casuals and increase his popularity. Popularity equals all-star votes if you play well which could even help him gain clout with the refs if he's viewed as an up and comer. Every opportunity helps no matter how small. I hope he wins.
It really wasn't all that hard. Just a joke lighten up. That said Green does have issues dunking in traffic. As far as the rest. I grew up in Atlanta when Maravich played. Have been a Rocket's fan since the late 70's when my family moved to Houston.
At least he didn’t b**** out of it like Lebron. He’s obviously got hops, it’ll be interesting to see how creative he can get. I’m all for Rockets being in any of these events, will watch for the first time in ages.
We just passed on Evan Mobley 6 months ago, the wound is still fresh. Harden & Fertitta backstabbed CP3. Fertitta was fooled by disloyal Harden into crippling the Rockets, then Russ (YUCK) and Beard jumped ship on the Fish Man. Morey and Tad Brown saw their way out. D’Antoni was replaced with an obedient moron. Les Alexander, for all of his faults, was a competent man in charge. The casino/restaurant manager is a UH booster posing as an NBA owner. Are Rockets fans supposed to be happy? Everything since the instant CP3 pulled his hamstring has been a torturous disaster.
LBJ had a brand to lose when he was younger. He is the best player who lost a dunk contest, that would be memorable.
We’ll give you a pass on the purity test… for now. But "jokes" about JG are like jokes about Leonid Brezhnev: can get your azz in CF jail. Especially this joke-no-joke type: JG has been blocked the most of anyone on the team….
I think the point is: Can we wait for like a couple of seasons for 19 year olds to fill out before these defintive conclusions?
He also drives to the rim the second most behind KPJ by a few decimal pts while also having a higher pt% and more fta per drive attempt. https://www.nba.com/stats/players/drives/?Season=2021-22&SeasonType=Regular Season&TeamID=1610612745&sort=DRIVES&dir=1 KPJ also dishes out more than attempt a shot at the rim compared to JG. So someone is going to lead the team at being blocked and it usually is the guard who leads the team in attempted finishes at the rim which makes sense....
My first thought when I found out he's entering the dunk contest was "I hope he doesn't blow his knee out on some awkward landing."
I agree. I hope this is his only one. It has to be hard on the knees, not the contest but the practice for the contest that is.
Honestly I'm very much over his inconsistent effort, I don't want him back at any point. It's not something I'd want around the young guys on the team. Having Wood here for the next few days is bad enough.
No normal person injures themselves practicing for a dunk contest. These guys are already trying crazy dunks all of the time.
