To be frank, Kobe's dunk attempts were rather easy for a dunk contest. Those dunks many modern hoopers can do quite easily today.
Yup. Different standards after the Lavine/Gordon dunk contest that will probably never be beaten. JG first (successful) dunk was better than any of those Kobe dunks and it's not close
It's the only dunk contest I still watch to this day sometimes and it still amazes me. I think AG should've won tho
Do not disagree. But any situation outside of the Rockets coaching hellhole would fit that description.
I didn't even want to draft Green at #2... I wanted Mobley at #2 or to trade down for Barnes.... I would rather have Barnes or Mobley right now. Pointing out the fact that Green lacks core strength and that impacts his ability to finish after contact and get more rebounds isn't making excuses for him. Do you have anything else you want to add?
He just assumed he could show up without putting forth any effort and win the whole thing on raw athleticism.....kind of like he thought he could do with ROY. Mr "Legendary work ethic" sure does seem to do that a lot.
Ehm, the 99 Vince Carter slam dunk contest is what really elevated the dunk contest and is still the cleanest, most elegant set of dunks ever
