Hamstrings tend to linger for a season. Best remedy is the same remedy I have for all of our hamstrings.
Get yourself a sensei and have him tie you to some trees.

People shouldn't be so dismissive of players when they get hurt. I think some people wanted to see Green without KPJ dominating the ball. Got their wish and saw what they needed to.

But like other posters said, KPJ is in year 3 and isn't likely to be a part of this team's long term future. Jalen and Sengun are the future along with whoever we draft this summer.

I’m not necessarily sure KPJ won’t be part of the future. There is a lot of season left to turn it around and I’m rooting for him. The Rockets franchise will be in a much better place if he can establish himself as a core piece as that is one less impact player you need to draft or bring in through free agency. I just don’t like what I’ve seen so far, but a large chunk of it so far has been because he is not at his natural position. That said, this is what he and the organization said they wanted so we have to let it play out. He proclaimed himself a PG in a Tweet to start the season so let’s see it.

Yea, me neither, this could become a big problem. Put this in the negative Jalen Green becoming a star bucket

uh.. no we did not see what we wanted. Silas still had the dumb ass 2 big lineup and EG picked up dominating the ball.. It was only the one game when Silas finally took Theis out we saw the Jalen we wanted to see with space.. 11 pts in the first qt. then he got injured..

At least it’s not the same leg so it isn’t an aggravation of the previous injury.

When I watch Green and Sengun, you can kinda see them "get it" game to game. They make little improvements here and there because they're just more naturally skilled than other players.

I dont see that in KPJ. I dont see him making better reads or running the offense any more efficiently. His turnovers are still there. He goes into those iso wannabe Harden modes still. He says that "no one can guard him" when any second rate defender can stay in front of him and force him into an errant turnover. If he was a rookie, I'd understand. Cade is probably worse than KPJ right now offensively but at least you can see him kinda begin to understand the things he can do. And he shows flashes. KPJ is in year 3. And he plays like a rookie.

    1 week?

But Kelly Iko and the “equipment manager” said he gave a thumbs up and “hopeful he’s good to go.”

“Wh…wha…what I meant was he didn’t need his leg amputated.”

another setback but still very young. how about spend this season to just physically improve, bulk up and give it another real go next year as a 20 year old

I’d sit him as long as possible. There isn’t any rush at all.

We didn't even get clarity on the strain's grade.
A Yuli hamstring (flesh wound) . Altuve Hamstring(2 weeks off will give his repaired knee rest) or Alex hamstring(worst case)

Sucks that it's a hamstring but at least it's a hamstring.

I think these are typically low on the 'uh oh' list for basketball players. It's a major annoyance but at least it's not a knee or a back injury. Rest him for a week, 2, 3, a month...and he'll be good as new coming back which is all that matters.

Hopefully he isn't a chronic hamstring strainer like Will Fuller was.

It seems like these ultra athletic fast twitch guys are more prone to chronic hamstring strains and tears.

why didnt silas eased him up into nba just like sengun to avoid the injury, particularly him not being used to playing such high minutes and a lot of games and being physically frail?
silas coaching is suspect... hope hes fired before he ruins this draft class

What bothers me with KPJ are the drives w/o purpose. He gets himself in trouble and then either forces the shot or pass. Sometimes he gets lucky and hits a cutter or gets fouled, but it's an awkward result for such an uber athlete. He really needs to develop or use a floater. If he had that, he could release a shot before he get too deep into the defense. I've seen Green do it, but I can't recall Porter ever deploying that shot.

Don't rush back, make sure you get 100%, the Rockets can afford to win a few while you're out.
