Stone sucks for drafting Jalen when the whole word was saying Mobley

His contract is really bad for what we got from him. It was extremely stupid of Stone to extend him before the season when he did not have to.

You’re assuming that’s going to happen, we’ve seen JG fold his game like tent with every missed shot

Mobley didn't want to be here because of the toxic atmosphere. His dad didn't want him anywhere near KPJ. I still think Mobley is massively overrated (especially here). In part though that's because how bad Jalen has been. That contract was ridiculous. That said, he's not the single reason we lost the series. We didn't show up as a team for game 7 on our home court and Ime simply doesn't make adjustments nor knows how to run an offense

If Jalen had been simply average we win games 3 and 4 forsure. He's the second most paid player on the court. He choked when we needed him the most

Shouldn't have extended him, not a huge mistake but a headache nevertheless.

You can’t blame 1/12th of the team. This was a coaching loss.

Why do you think it's a coaching loss?

To be fair, the defense of like a 9/10. The offense was like a 2/10, we playing like we are back to 2001

By no means am I defending Jalen. I haven't all season and this series was it for me. I just don't think we can pin the series solely on him. Ime was thoroughly outclassed and when your team doesn't even bother to show up in a game 7 that's a huge coaching issue. We need an offensive assistant. Even though that it's tough to drop in a guy who has been used sparingly, when it was obvious Jalen was going to lay an egg again I would have put in Reed. We had nothing to lose. Only thing I disagree with is people saying that we should have played Cam. He certainly doesn't deserve playing time. It was really frustrating watching them just quit. Come to think of it that would have been right up Cam's alley. Man I'm pissed.

NB: is not in fact a significant thing.

    (no love for Jalen either)

When your team isn't ready to play a game 7, has no offense, you can't make any adjustments when we were still in the field, allow Buddy Hield to essentially beat you even when Curry started slow and your team quits in the second half that's a coaching issue too. Jalen deserves a ton of blame but you can't just pin the loss on him. Oher than Amen nobody stepped up. They looked completely clueless out there

Huh? It’s a coaching loss that the MAN YOU DRAFTED TO BE YOUR SCORER is getting out scored by literal defenders and role players? Good lord

People still believe that made up rumor? Mobley knew the rockets were locked in on green, that’s why he didn’t participate in any private workouts.

There were also rumors that Mobley’s agent advised the Cavs not to draft him but they still drafted him anyway.

It's not a coaching loss, but the coaching was a significant factor in it to be sure. No doubt about that.

How do know it's a made up rumor? It's certainly believable. You follow it up with a matter of fact comment like you know Mobley and his teams line of thinking. That's pretty hypocritical.

We all choose what we believe. Truth is we don't know. I believe that his dad didn't want him anywhere near KPJ and Silas. To me that's reasonable. What player would rather go to Cleveland than Houston? Also. Why would you be willing to drop in the draft and lose money?

But the hair, man, the hair! And the high-flying dunks!

Stone seems to have a thing for soft-brained guards. Maybe he and his wife are like, "We can take him in. He just needs love."
If Kevin Porter Jr hadn't decided to film an unofficial episode of COPS in the off-season last year, Stone would still be coddling him.

Remember the infamous Game 6 vs San Antonio in 2017 that Harden had? That was basically what Jalen did for most of this series. It wasn't so much that he played badly(although he did). It's how passive he was to the point that he took himself out of the game. And I don't want to hear about playoff jitters or a lack of experience. Amen overcame that halfway through the series and played great from that point onward. Jabari never looked scared. Neither did Alpi. There's something mentally that's not right with this guy because the physical skills are there.

I disagree with those who say he's got an unmovable contract. But the Rockets won't get much in return. They'd basically be dumping his salary at this point. I kinda hope they do that and make a run at Quentin Grimes in free agency. Philly's got a logjam in their backcourt and are capped out anyway. He'd be a perfect fit with his outside shooting.
