Now this is a really smart argument. Booker went from being a career 35% 3 point shooter before CP3 joined the team to MASSIVELY leaping all the way up to 34% the season CP3 got there. Clearly the ONLY thing that matters when it comes to shooting open shots is who passed you the ball. How could I have been so blind as to not see it?
Flipping the script again to fit your "narrative". Jalen is going into his 3rd season. Not his 5th. Was better in his 2nd than Porter in his 3rd. Do the math.
Hopefully for you as a player first fan, Udoka will take that excuse when he's handing out roles and playing time based on merit. Because you know you definitely don't want to talk about right now.
My boy put a 50/10 piece on Jrue’s head and a entire championship Bucks team his second season Stop it
Oh look, a Jalen Green fan talking about the raw points per game of a chucker, how novel. Having such a terrible player chuck that many shots in order to inflate his stats was one of the largest factors in the team tanking. Having one of your worst players take 18 shots a night is why we got Amen, hopefully it's the last time Jalen will ever be allowed to chuck that much because I'm kind of tired of tanking.
He’s down there where Kobe, Magic, and Tony are but above Fox KPJ also didn’t get the green light to throw up 25-30 shots a game his first season and was bouncing around teams and bench roles his second season
Green never has thrown up 25-30 shots a game. In fact look at his literal fg% on 30 pt games. Also Green has a higher scoring efficiency in his first two years compared to KPJ's first two years which really harms your argument because you accounted for volume with the green light but Green light also means more defensive attention and worse shot selection and worse efficiency. But Green was more efficient than KPJ his first two years.
A player first fan? I'm no "only fan". You can ck the history boy. Think we all know who fits that mold. Your argument still falls flat. Next.
And that's the reason why I wanted KPJ to showcase that more since you and his water boy were talking about the scrubs around him couldn't shoot/make layups etc I said KPJ should have went into that chucker gunner mode since he had the Silas n GM keys to the house/car/private jet, that's what the true killers usually do when playing with scrubs, unless that 50 piece was just a flash in the pan one hit wonder, then so be it Not saying he had to drop 50 PT bombs, but a 40 piece weekly(twice) would have solidified his head honcho status on a team full of said scrubs, especially since he dropped that 50 piece on Bucks who were elite defense
If Jalen doesn't get better from behind the arc next season you gotta jump off the bandwagon. You can't be a franchise cornerstone sg and have 0.34 3pt fg% in this league. I don't want us to build around a sg who is only elite at getting to the ft line. I don't think i'm being harsh either 3 years is more than enough time to show fans that you are him. Booker developed into an elite 3pt shooter in his 3rd year. Ant was .37%. These are the two guys Jalen gets compared the most. I'll fully support him if he takes a leap too. Right now, KPJ is 100% better than him this is not up to discussion and progression isn't linear. Don't start with this KPJ was worse than Jalen when he was 20 it doesn't really work like that. And honestly Jalen giga fans should be the last ppl who should bring this age based comparisons because Jalen literally got worse in his 2nd season. If he had gotten better i'd have maybe listened but he got worse. So stop that. He's more likely to shoot 0.34 again than to shoot 0.37.
I bullshit a lot but I do not understand how you can watch KPJ & Green and have the audacity to say Green is a better basketball player than KPJ I know it, you know it, and nba/reddit knows it Best of luck to him, but between KPJ & Whitmore, Jalen might want to start acting like the franchise player y’all make him out to be
You people are too much. "Green shot worse his 2nd year"... while pumping Porter who shot .33 in his first and .31 in his 2nd from 3. Come back next year with this ish.
Some people here looking at numbers as if this was 2k. The internet giving a voice to those who think they know basketball was a mistake.
How can numbers not matter when the goal of the entire game is scoring more than your opponent? How did you even survive this long with this surface level thinking?
IF KP was so good you wouldn't have the Rockets top priority being to replace him at PG. They drafted Amen Thompson, want to acquire a PG in FA, and are clearly thinking that Green is the SG of the future. Where does that leave KPJ?
Well Jalen Green being 6th in NBA history in 30 pt games before turning 21 with a higher efficiency than KPJ in his first two years, that should tell you everything.
