Miller was at Memphis when they recruited Jalen, but he's always been kind of tight with Miller. He used to call him "Uncle Mike" from what I recall reading. I think a lot of the reason he may be high about Amen is just because he worked out with the twins at OTE and, of course, he's an agent. He's been high on the twins for a couple of years now. I'm not sure how close they are, though.
"I want to be better for my teammates," Green said. "I'm always going to be able to score. Now, it's more about contributing to my team in other ways."
Lowe: Jalen Green and a potentially supercharged Houston Rockets ascension Right now, Green probably represents their best chance at that superstar -- the apex ball handler. He has internal competition. Thompson has star potential. Smith surged last season, blew up in summer league, and seems poised for another leap in Year 2 on both ends. Sengun could be an All-Star-level producer on offense as soon as this season -- in part because of his promising two-man game with Green -- though Sengun has to reach a passable level on defense. But Green has tantalizing scoring tools and a willingness, he and his coaches say, to lean into more of a playmaking role and to give more effort on defense. In Year 3, he now has to live the message he delivered to that would-be veteran mentor: play unselfishly, play hard, play defense -- always. https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/38568078/why-jalen-green-player-lead-houston-rockets-ascension
An absolute disasterclass. Legit can't even look at the screen atm wtihout cringing to my balls. Hasn't done anything half good so far.
Yeah... no. You don't let someone like Issac of all people stand over you after blocking your dunk into oblivion. Get up, get in his face, and get a retaliation tech or something. So much cringe in that play. I don't think the attitude is there or will get there.
I think we're starting to see, he is kind of who he is at this point - inefficient scorer who takes superstar shots and plays poor defense. Super athletic and ton of potential but yet another reminder not all potentials work out. Not all #2 picks become superstars. In fact, more often than not, they DON'T become superstars in the league - wiseman, marvin bagley, lonzo ball, d'angelo russell, jabari parker, our own victor oladipo yeah yeah I know it's one game. I would happily be proven wrong
No sugar coating this. He looked liked a rookie out there at moments, feet moving faster than the ball, no touch on shots, driving into crowds with no apparent plan... sheeesh. We'll see how he looks Friday, but not very many positives for him or any of the Rockets tonight in a 30pt loss to the friggin' Magic.
He is in year three. He absolutely must show some consistency and evolve his game or he won't be a starter in the NBA for very much longer.
