I thought Green looked great. And I was hoping that Lucas was working with him while he was out. Good job coaches, good job Green. DD
Im guessing once the confidence in the hammy is fully back he'll attack the rim more becuse the several games leading up to the injury he was driving and finishing alot better. I'm sure he'll get to the point where he realizes he is going to be the fastest/most athletic dude on the floor alot of the time and trust that
Most games Sengun is a plus on the floor. He has a couple of games with a bad matchup and people start thinking he will always be what he is now. He is 19 just like the other rookies, but for some doesn’t get the benefit of the doubt. He is very good at the outlet pass and does not force us into a half court game, but he is good at the half court game which you still need even in the new NBA, especially in the playoffs. All of our rookies, except Garuba, have been impressive at times. They all have flaws, but all seem to be improving.
Yeah, I don't think he's realised yet that he can take the Westbrook approach to driving and just power over the defenders. Once he does there's gonna be a lot of people posterized.
Green was starting to play better before he was hurt and I wouldn’t be surprised if he scores close to 20 points a game in the second half of the season. No one questions his work ethic that works with him and that will go a long way, he is going to become a very good scorer and probably a pretty good shooter as well. Defensively he was fine coming back and his effort is higher than most 19 year old scoring guards. He has some physical limitations that may limit what he can do in certain facets of his game that Mobley and Barnes don’t have. However people said Harden wasn’t a good enough athlete to be an elite player and that proved to be false, so no one knows for sure. Im glad Green is back, he is by far the most talented player on the team and is a massive part of the future. His work ethic and discipline will take him a long way and help open up his game. All Rockets fans should be pulling hard for Green to keep improving and become an all star guard and hopefully a franchise type player. It’s easy to criticize these guys, but he is 19 years old, living away from home for the first extended period of time and is at the gym at 7 am when most people on this site are farting in their sleep.
No you won't see that this year. His frame doesn't allow it unless it's a clear path to the rim. But we all knew his body has limitations rn. That's why he gonna be so great. He can't even use his gre a test strength rn lmao. Nba in trouble once he gets bigger folks. A star.
Naw I didn't see that. Those were the clear path drives he was doing. Not the get in the lane get contact n finish drives.
Clearly he's not going to reach his peak until he gets stronger but he was finding ways to get to the rim and finish even with his size limitations. Nobody was saying he was powering over dudes like russ but watch the tape. He was getting to the cup and finishing
That first highlight with him skying to get that steal while fronting turner in the post was special. His hyper athleticism was on full display there. Also the assists in the pick and roll....I think if he were given the ball in those situations more he'd rack up tons of assists. His timing and location of the passes is very good.
That was a conversation with hakeem94. Talk of trading Sengun to get a rise out of hm. Rockets aren't trading Sengun....not just yet anyway. I'm not saying Sengun is not a good player. I've had him as Pau Gasol. People here are too young....they don't understand how good Pau was. But his best year, I believe, was 19 points a game. People here have Sengun as better than Jokic. We shall see. In today's NBA, to have a center about 250 pounds like Capela that can shoot 4.6 three's at 37% is greater than gold. Imo. I prefer not having a Embiid or Jokic....I feel the hamper the team in the long run as a result of defense prowess along the perimeter. The little things that compose the sum of its whole speaks volumes. A Clint Capela that can shoot 3's can take us further than a post up player that can pass. Myles Turner at 250 pounds started and Wood had a hard time. At half time the Rockets commentators reported that the Pacers had 11 points off fast break to Houston's zero. Rockets lost bad in the rebound department. No one can blame Theis. He did not play. You are seeing teams game plan for Sengun now. It's full steam ahead when Sengun is in the game. I see the pattern. Rockets were close but Sengun (& others) couldn't keep up with the Pacers run and gunning to start the fouth. Wesly Mathews and the Bucks also sent off during the time Sengun was playing in the previous game. I'm glad Sengun is working with Olajuwon.....foot work is getting even better, but I'm not sure speed will ever be good enough defensively. It's career 18 minutes a game speed. Imo. The NBA is about position-less basketball. That's the present and the future barring rule changes. So in retrospect: Sengun is good, especially as a backup. But I would win with two Myles Turners to go along with a versatile C Wood. That's championship formula basketball.
Not seeing the difference here, a dip is when after catching the ball, you lower it before entering your upward motion? Or am I looking at something else? Bad quality and low FPS don't help either.
According to "NoDefense" on you tube Jalen Green has played in four games without Theis on the court. 18 points per game 51% (FG%) 40% (3P%) 64% (TS%) ... and Jalen logged in only 10:34 minutes in one of those games and 25 minutes restriction in the most recent game.
