Guards? I don't know but the Rockets do have a 19 year old center who does that..... Sorry to kill your excuse though.
Again. Go to this link and see who is #1. How old is he? https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/nba-player-ratings/
You can say he hasn’t played well without making asinine comparisons. I can do something similar. Jalen Green is the 3rd youngest player to score 30, right after Lebron and Kobe. Guess he’s headed for superstardom.
I'm pretty sure he was trying to show it filtered for rookies. Sengun is #1 and he's 19..... but he's a 19 year old who doesn't need excuses made for him unlike others who have been terrible
The Jalen Green haters and Pro tankers are going to be really upset when he gets back. Which is weird because a lot of pro tankers also are Jalen Green haters and you'd think they'd want him back asap to lead the tank. But it's no wonder they're all twisted and tangled because they root for their team to fail and also hate one of their teams best young players without even really giving him an opportunity to succeed. Y'all definitely built different.
Going to be a fun ride when Jalen isnt the "worst player in the NBA" according to a new metric! LOL damnit its too bad we dont have Alex CAruso who is 10th on RAPTOR rating this week - he would really change the direction of this franchise! Shoot wasnt someone pumping up GArry Birds RAPTOR just last week as a top 5 player? Where is he this week? 41st. Its the Comedy Hour on Clutchfans - lemme go make some popcorn.
Yep, and that’s something I actually put higher weight on than the statistical community would. Scoring 30 in NBA game is very hard, it can happen by fluke (anyone remember the Sam Mack game?) but these flukes are rare. Speaking of bust potential, that game alone lowered the bust probability quite a lot for me. BUT, bust probability is non-zero!!! I was called crazy for that, and my response to that is “Right back at You!" I think it’s absolutely crazy to rule out a Darko/Stro type flameout. Absolutely crazy!! Obviously tremendous gap in that regard.
No one is saying his bust potential is non-zero. It's just the hyperbolic comments that people have issue with.
I think it is to avoid being a Lou/Clarkson replica, a one dimensional scorer with nothing else much.
Every metric has Jalen Green as the worst or second worst player on the Rockets.... I do hope that one day he'll improve and no longer be so objectively terrible, but that's just how it is right now
Its 100% logical and not weird because Jalen Green showing the world that he is no good, defeats the purpose of tanking by exposing its ugly reality, you trade away all your good players and lose a lot of games on purpose for a hyped up guy only to end up with same or even worse mediocre to bad players you traded away in order to tank....lolololol if jalen geen is a bad player its harder to hope banchero or chat will be anything different
Did you know that the grins and giggles of the RAPTOR stat has all time rankings where guys like Kevin Garnett, John Stockton, CLYDE DREXLER, Jason Kidd rank above Hakeem Olajuwon!?!? It's adorable that you are attacking one metric when EVERY metric says that Jalen Green is objectively terrible at basketball. You have your work cut out for you trying to debunk every single basketball metric, don't waste too much time on only one. As the saying goes, simping ain't easy.
If Corey Brewer did that at 19 years of age in his first 10 games playing on the NBA, people would hype him as a future superstar. Again, Green is the third youngest player ever to score 30 pts in a NBA game... Ever.
I know you are trying to bait me but you could at least use actual skills and not athletic ability nobody daid Harden is more athletic than Green. Do better my guy.
Green has been bad so far this year (in a line-up that was objectively terrible for everyone offensively), while showing attributes that make him an exciting future prospect. Am I missing anything here? Otherwise, beating a dead horse that a rookie has been bad 17 games into their career doesn't seem particularly meaningful, unless you're going to make the stupid point that it is entirely predictive of his future career. Either make that point (and be wrong), or acknowledge that he's struggled and move on. Entertaining Bobby's very tired schtick of just latching on to the same point over, and over, (and over, and over, and over) again without advancing the conversation's depth or drawing any meaningful conclusion is old. Just ignore and move on so we can actually see any meaningful updates in this thread.
