[Jalen Green] “I need to Lock in, Focus on my craft, and get that Rookie of the Year”

He probably would be leading the ROY race if we only looked at the last 30 games.

But at the end of the day, a rookie's last 30 games are always more important than their first 30 games.

 

Honestly if in the next two games he gets 30 plus and breaks Allen Iverson's rookie record... he should get rookie of the year.

Iverson's record is 40+ for 5 consecutive games.

 

He could drop 50 spots the next two games and he isn’t getting ROY over Mobley or Barnes.

In the grand scheme of things ROY doesn’t matter much. When you list Hall of Famers no one ever thinks “This guy won ROY.”

 

It mattered to Green.

 

Well then he will be disappointed he doesn’t get it.

 

ROY is a cool accomplishment but yeah it hardly defines a players career.

Plenty of ROYs have had meh careers and plenty of superstars did not get ROY.

I wish Green was this hot all season and could be in the mix but it’s nothing more than a cool award

Yeah different thread. But, I couldn’t believe some of the stuff being typed about Green seemingly because he was having a long line of bad games. He told me if I remember correctly that it was valid criticism. So I made a thread to show the poster how ridiculous his ideas were.

 

Of course he wouldn't get it but imo he should. That's why the award is never really as great as the reward. Jalen is trending up and if he stays dialed in mentally he will soon be playing championship minded basketball. Rockets just have to get the right pieces in the next few years.
