Record doesn't really play a role with rookie of the year. Anthony Edwards won with a 19-45 record.

The top rookies are going to usually be on bad teams. Green's main competition for ROY are also on bad teams. Cade isn't going to be on a team with a much better record. In fact the Pistons could even have a worse record.

I hope he looks at friend Josh Christopher, his new friends Usman Garuba and Alperen Sengun and says "ROY is mine, but this is the first team all rookie right here. We're making a pact that we are all going to work together to make that happen."

At least the offense is going to flow easily now.

John Wall thankfully won't be ballstopping plays and ignoring Stephen Silas and John Wall putting up bad shots.

Haha these guys don't talk like that.

Jalen - "Roy is mine, Ferrari mine, Hoes mine"

Josh - "ROY of D League"

Garuba - "Thursday nights Spanish night Houston"

Sengun - "Happy at Istanbul Grill daily"

Nice to think the media, league and refs prefer Green over everyone else.

I’m glad he’s determined to prove himself as the best rookie. I slightly worry about him being too wrapped up in winning individual awards.

ESPN seems to think so as well. Of the ESPN analysts polled. Green got 72.2% of the first-place votes, and Cunningham got the remaining first-place votes. In terms of the overall survey, Suggs was third, Mobley was fourth, Barnes fifth, Giddey sixth and Mitchell seventh. I was surprised Sengun didn't score a single point, actually, given how much love ESPN has given him lately.

I'll be glad when the front office/players are more interested in winning titles than individual awards.

I don't see the issue with him wanting to be ROY.
As much as We want to, We can't expect a 19yr old to have a maturity level and understanding of team success in the league as, say a 10yr NBA vet. He wants to prove he's the best player in the draft, and by the looks of it, he wants it bad.
Let's hope he develops, and keeps the same hunger for a ring in HOU, like he's hungry for ROY...

Green isn't stupid. He knows we'll lose a ton this year. The best achievable goal for this year is ROY. If he comes out and says that his goal for the year is a championship then he'd be an idiot.

This was one of the quietest 30 pt nights not only was it a tough home loss, 18 overall team TOs, and one of the worst 3rd Quarters.
