I think it's pretty clear he is better offensively, as well. Chas reminds me of a poor man's Springer. He has a lot of wild swing in his game right now. A lot of pitch guessing and overcommitment. I honestly wonder if he, as of now, comes to the plate with a clear plan of action. I don't get that from Meyers. He seems a lot more composed.

AJ Pollock is the best realistic upper limit comp I have seen. Sizemore is a good comp for his ceiling as well. Meyers will very likely hit for more power than Maybin. I don’t think Abreu is a very similar player. Same for Erstad, who rarely struck out and didn’t hit for much power.

Off the cuff here are the ranges of his core stats I would predict:

    bb rate: 6-11%
    k rate: 21-31%
    ISO: .180-250

And his defense will be somewhere between above average and elite.

Those stat ranges are pretty wide. At the low end, he’ll probably be very close to Jake Marisnick. At the high end, he’d be very close to George Springer. Either way I think he will perform well enough to be a fixture on the Astros roster for the next 4-6 years.

    Composure separates Average or Great.

I am looking forward at how Jake performs in the Postseason, I think he can perform at a High Level.

Jake Meyers, Forrest Whitaker, Pedro Leon running in the Outfield would be fun to watch.

Maybe there are more sleeper talent in the Minors.

Although his K rate is super high, his plate discipline hasn’t been all that bad. Swinging strike rate is only a little above average, and is much lower than McCormick’s.

What was his best movie role?

I say Last King of Scotland.

Or Platoon, and Good Morning Vietnam

I laughed too hard at the Forrest Whitaker comment. Jake Meyers looks great early on. He may have a few more games of consistent AB’s til Tuck gets back and McCormick’s hand heals,

I think Meyers has more potential. But it's great to have depth. If Chas ends up eventually being the 4th outfielder, thats still good. He is capable of filling in at any outfield position and is a nice bat off the bench.
