The raw numbers are needed. 0-0 isn't bad, but 0-30 is terrible. But the % is the same .000 (forgetting you shouldn't divide by 0, but everybody does)

I agree the trade wouldn't have happened without Cleveland including Diaz, but I also think it's clear Click really liked Maton, and as was discussed widely when the trade was made, there are things about Maton's profile that make it possible Houston can help him take the step from good reliever to elite reliever (he has already been well above replacement level on balance thru his career so far).
I am not a big fan of Maton’s actual performance but he has been a lot better than his era. He has high spin rate and is the rare pitcher that can get a lot of K’s with few homers. He does have the reputation of being his own worse enemy though so it will be interesting to see what happens. The oddest tidbit I have heard on him is that the Astros talked to him about buying out his free agency and extending him. Obviously that hasn’t happened so far, but leads me to believe the Astros player development and scouting department see high level talent with a reasonable chance of success…. Or they wouldn’t look to extend him beyond the two years of control they have.
Today's homer was off an 85 mph changeup. It was in his zone though which is everything but the corners.
If I were a pitcher I would throw him curveballs at the corners until he proves he can hit them. I'm glad mlb pitchers aren't as smart as me.
The Stros have done pretty well considering most have them rated as a lower level team in regards to talented prospects. Just this year, Straw/McCormick/Meyers/Jones have all proven to be able to play at an avg MLB level and some have potential to be so much more. Then you've got Lee/Leon and several OF'ers that will be MLB ready soon. In the lower levels you've got guys like Perez/Barefoot/Diaz etc.... and that doesn't even take into account all of young talented pitchers at all levels. I would love to see how the great farm systems stack up. One system that I think is going to be putting alot of talented players in MLB soon is the Tigers.
Yeah... I'd like to see Meyers with a week's worth of at bats hitting in front of any one else on the team.
