This is kinda funny, don't listen much but I've always thought NPR had a pro - Israel slant to the news and the guy on the idler thinks NPR has a *destroy* Israel slant to the news. Who is the guy who writes this stuff for the idler - he's only a little more partisan than Rush and where are the attributions or footnotes? Where are Said's actual writings that are inflammatory? Show me the money! http://www.guardian.co.uk/israel/Story/0,2763,203150,00.html Here's the short autobiography from the lefty side, I can see why fundamentalist Christians hate him, since what he calls for would put off the second coming of Jesus for a while: Edward W Said has written a series of books arguing for the rights of Palestinians in Israel and the occupied territories. These include The Question of Palestine (1979) and The Politics of Dispossession (1994). He is known as a stern critic of the Oslo peace process begun in 1993, arguing that it sold short the right of Palestinian refugees to return to their homes. He also opposes the Oslo formula of carving a Palestinian entity out of Israel, the West Bank and Gaza, arguing instead for the creation of one state, in which Arabs and Jews would have equal rights. He is a professor of English and comparative literature at Columbia university in New York. He has also taught at Harvard, Johns Hopkins and Yale universities in the United States.
