I've recently watched "Beautiful Girls" and "Leon" for the first times ever, and I've found myself completely enamored with Natalie Portman. There are so many social and moral issues with this.........even if she is legal now.
Have you actually seen the movie? SPOILER! * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * She conned him into thinking she was his teenage daughter. She was actually a fair bit older than that (late teens/early twenties)...
Yea, that review is incomplete. If you've seen the movie, she's playing him. The character is actually a 20ish-year-old woman, playing a 14-year-old.
**** MATCHSTICK MEN SPOILERS **** I think the fact that she looked a bit too old to be a 14-year-old is perfect for the movie. Roy Waller is a very paranoid character. The fact that he couldn't see through her semi-obvious disguise shows that deep down inside, he wanted to believe her. I thought that was rather sad and touching.
Yeah, I know that...but I guess I thought she was still supposed to be closer to 18 or so in the movie...but could pass for 14. Instead she was 24 or so. When I say she was ridiculously old, by the way, I don't mean that I think she didn't work in the role...just that I was surprised she was that old. I would have thought her to be around 20 at the oldest. PS - I know the review was incomplete - I just copied that paragraph from a much larger summary.
