In Ivey's case, where he worked out, where he didn't work out, who he's talked to, and who he's not talked to means..... NOTHING. Ivey is a bonafide superstar in waiting. He's bigger, stronger, longer, and probably faster than Ja Morant. There hasn't been a more for sure superstar to come into Association since Luka. And yes, that includes Ant, Green, and Cade. Ivey is a more sure fire superstar than all of them. The only question is whether the Thunder take him at #2. If they opt for Chet, then I'm convinced Stone will take him at 3. Doesn't matter about KPJr. He'll have to accept it and embrace it...or lock himself into a low contract because he pouted all season. Ivey, Green, and KPJr together is DYNAMIC. It's the kind of thing championship dynasties are built on.
Decades from now, the last words from my deathbed, spoken with a smile: " Mario Elie.......kiss of deaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaath.........[gurgle] ".
Since Jabari refused. Would be funny if Paolo and Chet were picked 1 and 2 and Houston passed on Jabari for Ivey.
Did the Rockets bring in Alp Sengun, Josh Christopher or Garuba for workouts pre draft? Not sure they did?
Almost 100% certain neither Sengun or Garuba worked out for the Rockets beforehand. I would not put anything past Stone. It works to his advantage to let people assume things. We are all assuming the 3 forwards are a tier above…that may not be how the Rockets look at this at all. So far it seems like OKC is trying to play mind games with Houston. “We love Banchero!” “We might take Ivey!”.
Josh I think came in with green to work out but there was an insider last year saying we would draft JC last year, we already a hot mess with to many guys not getting playtime and kmj asking for a trade bring in Ivey when we already guard heavy is about to cause another mess.
I seem to remember Josh Christopher saying the Rockets never interviewed or worked him out pre draft. Stone doesn't like to tip his hand. RocketsWire shows those who worked out June 24th. Can't link it per Clutchfans.
I disagree....BPA at #3 is Ivey and as people here are saying don't let Sengun influence our (Rockets) decision on drafting Banchero.....then don't let KMj & Tate influence the Rockets moving Porter to SF (position-less basketball) and Ivey the combo guard playing the 1 just like Marcus Smart just did for the Eastern Conference champs Boston. Eric Gordon and Mathews can go pound salt if they don't like it.
I believe this to be true. I have read that the Rockets have worked out Paolo twice. I don't think that Sengun will be the only offensive option in the front court, especially after the Wood trade.
That only makes sense if Ivey is secretly Sacramento's top choice. The Rockets pick Ivey and swap him for Banchero plus Mitchell or more likely their top 5 protected 2023 pick.
