Bobbythegeek and DD both hate Ivey. They're two of the absolute worst talent evaluators on this board so pretty safe to say if we end up with Ivey (he wouldn't be my pick personally) we'll be fine
That's about as in depth as anyone attempting to defend the idea of drafting Ivey goes. Someone better than you spells out why it's a bad idea, so you support it reflexively.
Ivey wouldn't be my pick which I clearly stated, but what I said was true. Your post history proves that. "Someone better than you"? I know you live in a fantasy world where being important on a basketball message board would actually mean a lot but that's not how reality works. We don't know each other (and hopefully never will) but save that garbage for someone else who actually believes anything that you say. On topic, I could easily see Ivey being Wade type player. It's not out of the realm of possibility. They have a lot of the same positives and negatives coming out of college. The thing is that I don't know (and neither do you) so I'm not opposed to listen to comments suggesting that my opinion is just that. You see how easy that is? You should try it instead of a fake internet persona.
You gotta take BPA. Stone is a great talent evaluator so if he thinks Ivey is the guy I trust that Of course Kpj looks better than Ivey rn dude has been in the league comin up on 4 years now. It's not like his skills helped us win games & he's irreplaceable. Ivey played winning ball at Purdue & took a huge leap as a sophomore & has no off court issue. So Ivey on a rookie deal or having to pay kpj an extension with his track record?
I was thinking about how much i would like Garuba and Eason at the forward spots after they develop in the next few years, and i guess that scenario works best if we take Ivey. Obviously there would need to be a massive jump in 3's for Garuba, but i do love that defensive potential overall with he and Eason and even Ivey and Green backcourt. Alpy just needs to hold his own against big 5's or let Garuba/Eason front them like a pest. Think Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson fronting Yao. Too many unknowns...i know...just thinking out loud.
I agree, I'm hoping Garuba is working with a shooting coach and studying the expanded version of the Silas playbook daily. I'm also wishing Eason and his per-40 stats of 27.7 pts, 3.2 Stl, 1.8 Blks, 10.8 rebs is our selection at #17 (so many players are climbing up) 80.3 (FT%) ...... But I also like Mark Williams and EJ Liddell Mark Williams (per 40-minutes as NBA tankathon puts it) 19.0 pts, 0.8 Stls, 4.8 Blks, 12.5 rebs, 72.7 (FT%) He can be my one guy that *doesn't shoot 3's...everyone else needs to hit 3's EJ Liddell per 40-minutes 23.4 pts, 0.7 Stl, 3.1 Blks, 9.6 Rebs, 4.6 (3PA), 37.4 (3P%), 3. 0 (Ast), 76.5 (FT%) *Like Robert Williams or Looney
I like Liddell a lot. I saw a decent amount of him in college and he checks a lot of boxes. Him being undersized isn't a big deal in today's NBA. I could see him being a PJ Tucker type defender which is a high praise and a bargain at 17
He is my version to Draymond Green 6'6" Liddell 6'7" Draymond 7'1" wingspan Liddell 6' 11.25" wingspan ------------------------ Passing: Draymond excels, Liddell does not. Rebounding: Draymond excels, Liddell is ok. Scoring: Liddell is good, Draymond not so much. Defense: Draymond has extremely high defensive I.Q., Liddell can defend. Transition: both can run and get down court before big centers P.J. Tucker lunch bucket comp is a good one
i do not think he would be the pick seeing as we already have a lot of guards already and he would have to fight to get playing time i think it is palo banchero
Big Lidell guy too Even better than Dray at this stage in 2 key areas: Beautiful rainbow arc on deep jumper with lift and pure release Excellent rim protector from weak or strong side
Chip Jones on Twitter: "Watching Jaden Ivey turn on the burners while off-ball will never stop being a surreal experience for me. https://t.co/Q7zjYy0kTT" / Twitter
Even with there being no tweet Rox had a slim to no chance picking Ivey at 3 just cuz that would be a massive waste. Loke what Atlanta did with Young if they wanted Ivey Rox will trade down.
@ghettocheeze its time to admit you're wrong rockets didn't even bring him in for work outs only play rockets brought in was Paolo and Chet and Jabari refused to work out for the rockets.
