That movie is crazy. Who would imagine that they would use a girl monk to be the goalie? :D

I need to get Shaolin Soccer, Chow is absolutely brilliant. Kung Fu Hustle was genius.

Chris Tucker: If he wants to still be remembered in Hollywood as a WORKING actor, he should just stop with all the demands and make the movie. Aside from memorable crazy roles in The 5th Element and Friday, Rush Hour 1 and 2 are his only big movies...and those movies are pretty old now. He hasn't done a thing since.

Denzel: He DOES play the same type of character in every movie. I think the reason why he was so good in Training Day is because, instead of playing the brooding and commanding protagonist, he played a brooding and commanding antagonist instead. He's never done anything on the comedy scale (although that one christmas movie with Whitney Houston was laughable) and he's never done anything on the romantic level. Heck, even Will Smith has a broader acting talent range.

    Essential Don Cheadle viewing:

    Devil in a Blue Dress
    Traffic
    Ocean's 11
    Out of Sight
    Boogie Nights

Supposedly, he was great as Sammy Davis, Jr. in The Rat Pack, but I haven't seen that one.

p.s. I agree that Denzel has hit the same note in most of his recent performances, but if you’d seen Cry Freedom or Malcolm X you’d know that he has quite the range. Too bad he hasn’t taken on roles like those in a long time.

    NO way

fade is TOTALLY right...Morgan is THE MAN.

Dont get me wrong...I used to like Eddie...but as much as I love cheesy movies...his latest ones have downright sucked...Eddie needs to find himself a decent movie to make a comeback with...

at this point, Eddie is below all the actors fade mentioned(adding Denzel, who I like alot)...including Don Cheadle...I havent seen him in a movie yet that I didnt watch him and say...damn he's good.

It’s a great movie, and both of them are really good in it.

    It was Cheadle’s breakout performance.

You should really check it out -- especially if you're curious about Cheadle.

Speaking of Don Cheadle, does anyone remember him in one of the really old Fresh Prince of Bel-air episodes as Will's best friend T-bone (i think). The one where him and Hilary hookup. I think that was his breakout performance :p

I'm with JV on this one. While I loved the action and visuals of both, Hero was a far more enjoyable movie for me than Flying Daggers. Structurally sound plotlines are important to me. Hero had a very sparse storyline, and it may be difficult for some to figure out what's going on, but by the end, it makes sense, and it's whole. Flying Daggers, on the other hand, felt incredibly imbalanced. It starts out as an attempt to catch an assassin, switches over to a man's ambivalence between his professional obligations and his feelings, and then suddenly turns into a twisted (albeit, typically Asian) love triangle. I found this dramatic shift in storyline 2/3 through the movie completely unacceptable. When I realized that it was originally a miniseries that they turned into a movie, I understood it better, but I think they failed. There is realistically only so much you can accomplish in two hours plus. That's why on some level I didn't mind all the changes in the Hitchhiker's movie because the book was just not designed to fit in a movie without significant alteration.

Chris Tucker will end up exactly like the character he played in "Dead Presidents".

In all fairness, I thought Chris Tucker was pretty funny in Friday. I love that movie.
