I never thought it was funny.. but I'm not sure why. Cause I think it's hilarious when people fall down (ahem, model on runway) or "football in the groin..football in the groin!", etc.
Right. The late greats Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton & Roscoe "Fatty" Arbuckle would agree. Comedy used to be about "gags" and stunts. Had to do things to get attention in the silent film era. What better gag than to shove toy cars in someone's rear end? Saw an episode of Blind Date that Steve O was on, before he was "Steve O". Snorting saki through a straw for no reason just to do it and stripping down completely naked in a bar doesn't do much to impress most women. But it sure is amusing to watch
Did anyone see Jackass 2.5 on Comedy Central last night? My favorite skit: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8t-fFu7iw-U&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8t-fFu7iw-U&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Jackass is still one of my favorite shows. I some of their stunts go get a little over the top but that comes with the territory I guess.
I saw it for a second and couldn't help but notice they were playing "We're Gonna Drop the Atom Bomb" by Turbonegro during one of the scenes! That commands my respect; I'll have to look more into this "Jackass". I think "We Want Fun" by Andrew WK is on the soundtrack to the movie, so that doesn't hurt either.
