    Now official: returning May 2014.

Apparently it'll be 12 episodes but retain the 24-hour arc, basically allowing them to jump around a bit.

The show went downhill after season 5/6.

Season 6 was roundly graded (and rightfully so) as terrible and the worst of the series, but most folks felt the final two seasons were greatly improved. In particular, the last six or so episodes were fantastic.

So after some more recommendations, I decided to keep watching season 2 even after being put off by how dumb Kim was.

Then there's a freaking cougar!!!!!! What the hell.... just skipping her parts from now on, so stupid. How did I not hear about the dumbest character on tv before this!

Otherwise the show is pretty good and looking forward to finishing up in time for the new season.

    LONDON CALLING JACK BAUER!!!.

    October 3, 2013 at 1:02pm

NEW ACTION-PACKED EVENT SERIES “24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY” TAKES JACK BAUER TO ENGLAND FOR 12 ACTION-PACKED EPISODES

24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY Marks the First “24” Production to Film Abroad Since 2008 Telefilm “24: Redemption”

Twentieth Century Fox Television, Imagine Television and FOX are sending the production of 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY across the Atlantic to London for a thrilling international adventure, as the new tent-pole event series restarts the clock on the groundbreaking and Emmy Award-winning drama franchise starring Kiefer Sutherland. As previously announced, 24: LIVE ANOTHER DAY will make its historic debut in the summer of 2014 on FOX.

“‘24’ has always had such a global sensibility,” said Sutherland, who also serves as an executive producer on the event series. “But to be able to tell this intense ‘24’-style story with the beauty of Europe’s history and architecture as the backdrop is going to be fascinating. Hopefully, by the time you’re finished watching an episode, you’ll feel like you’ve been there...on the edge of your seat.”

Co-showrunner and executive producer Evan Katz added, “We wanted the show’s return to be an event, and part of that was putting Jack in a very different context. Four years ago, we left Jack a fugitive from justice and we’re going to pick him up four years later in London.”

Co-showrunner and executive producer Manny Coto continued, “Jack is soon back on the run and it takes us into the streets of London and in places that break new ground for the show. We’ve shot in New York, Washington, Los Angeles and Cape Town -- but now we’re in London and Jack’s loose on the streets of Europe, hunted by and hunting bad guys.”

Originally premiering November 6, 2001, “24” was nominated for a total of 73 Emmy Awards, winning for Outstanding Drama Series in 2006. Over the course of eight seasons, and a two-hour telefilm, Sutherland garnered seven Emmy Award nominations and one win for Outstanding Lead Actor – Drama Series. While the series gained global recognition, Sutherland’s portrayal of the legendary character penetrated the American psyche like no other dramatic television character to become part of the cultural lexicon.

Homeless man 'lucky to be alive' after lion attack

The unidentified man underwent emergency surgery in hospital after the rare mountain lion attack on a human being on Saturday.

PERRIS, Calif. — A homeless man was repeatedly bitten and clawed by a mountain lion at a Southern California encampment, but was expected to survive, state game wardens said Sunday.

The unidentified man, believed to be in his 50s, was camping near State Route 74 west of Perris late Saturday when he was mauled, California Department of Fish and Game Lt. Patrick Foy said.

Foy told the Riverside Press-Enterprise the man didn't know what attacked him, but puncture wounds, bite marks and cuts to his body indicate he was mauled by a big cat.

"We are about 99 percent that it was a lion," Foy said. "The conclusion is based solely on the victim's injuries and the extent of the injuries."

The man was recovering at a hospital after undergoing emergency surgery.

"He's lucky to be alive," Foy said.

The attack prompted wardens to set up traps in the area. Foy said mountain lions typically return to the scene of a kill 24 to 48 hours later so they can continue feeding.

Mountain lion attacks on humans are not common.

Since 1986, there have been 15 confirmed attacks — with three fatalities — in the state, according to California Department of Fish and Wildlife records.

    You can't go home again.

Jack Baur's popularity was in part a response to the national psyche at the time. We are getting somewhat removed from the paranoia of terrorist and moving to more concern with our own loss of civil liberties. The complete lack of institutional control and Constitutional protections may not play as well in 2014.
