It takes a real hero to forfeit personal power for the best of the country. Let another willing to lead the country with her same commitment to progress without the anchor of hostilely her name brings from weird americans. God bless you Ardern
I've been having a lot of dreams about still being back in NZ. Especially given that I've been dealing with slush and ice the past week in MN and we might get 6" of snow today.
Resigning early while still being the most popular political figure in your country is a very un-tyrannical thing to do. Yes, she was hated by the opposition. So was Obama, who was also the most popular political figure in the US at the end of his term despite a large number of conservatives calling him evil and dangerous. One has to be a power-hungry narcissist to want to remain in this game indefinitely (see: Trump, Putin, Netanyahu, and many others) given the psychological distress it would put you under. I respect her choice to bow out and return to normal, family life.
She forgot to get the fake electors from Christchurch to Wellington. I heard the ferry out of Picton was delayed for bad weather.
She knew she was going to lose the election. Aside from whatever disagreements I have with her politics, you can also look at her and you can see that she is physically exhausted. She looks like she aged 30 years from when she started. Undoubtedly, the job is very stressful. I wish her well for her "retirement" (pretty sure she will want to come back when the polls look better) and I hope she will eventually admit some of the things she did wrong.
Yes. I was there when it happened here is my first hand video I shot. and I'm pretty sure the big reveal in next season of Rings of Power is that Jacinda Arden is Sauron!
After witnessing her fellow dictator-wanna-be failed in America and Brazil, she's adopting a new method. Exit now while she's still popular, do the grifting for a few years, then come back for coup detat.
Sigh. And so what begins exactly? And who is that rando twitter account? What other "tyrants" are about to resign? And btw, historically speaking, "tyrants" do not voluntarily resign. LOL. Actual tyrants fight like hell to keep power, a la Putin assassinating rivals, various politicians making false statements about fraudulent elections, or hey, even stoking riots to interrupt election proceedings etc.
Also, I am amazed that @rocketsjudoka survived his recent visit to tyranny -- maybe he was brainwashed in between liberal torture sessions tho.
I love Jacinda Arden! She is both powerful as she is beautiful and is loved by all! She saw the light of the Two Trees in Valinor. Lived in ancient Nargothrond with her brother Finarfin Arden. Fought the forces of Morgoth at the end of the First Age and resisted Sauron in the Second and Third Age. Gave Frodo the strength to destroy the One Ring. Now she goes to the Grey Havens to sail to the West for the rest from the Worlds Labours.
