Disagree that Jabari is soft. He's a very fiery player, just not strong for his size. And not sure he will ever be as dynamic on defense as Tari. And his offense is always a mystery each game.
I think the "soft" impression comes from the fact that he doesn't do power play. With his height, there are many times he should be dunking on people with authority. Instead, he threw up some weak layup and often missed. I think that's not because he is soft but because he does not have the powerful burst to get off the floor fast enough. This also shows up at his rebounding. He's a fundamentally sound rebounder and he is not afraid to get in the mix to crash the offensive board. But he doesn't get a lot of offensive rebounds like Amen and Tari do because he can't get to the ball fast enough. What he does is disrupt the opponent's rebounding, keeping the ball alive so that one of his teammates may get it.
He’s timid on offense, he wants to make the right place which then messes with his shot… then he presses and front rims everything measuring he does his best to box out but he’s just not strong enough most times against bigger PFs and Cs … we don’t do him no favors with our offense system
I think Jabari's softness isn't limited to his lack of strength, it's mental too. He gets down on himself too much and it affects his play on the court. However, I think he has improved in this regard and tries to play with more grit than last year. One thing that doesn't get mentioned much is his lack of athleticism. I didn't notice this in college despite watching ~15-20 games of him at Auburn. He's stiff and his combination of foot speed, hops and strength are average at best.
Bari is a SF!! That stretch he played with the double big lineup was beautiful - he was aggressive and getting it the rim (he has more of a advantage playing at SF than he does with stronger taller bulker PFs
