Bari and kd are both 4's in today's nba. Asking either one to defend in the perimeter is not good. The for with alpi and kd is terrible. Or any other big and Kd against any quality perimeter playmaker is bad for us. His contact is tradable. $22.8 million incoming salary. Requires $18.2 million salary outgoing from team receiving him that is not subject to apron limit. Or the Celtic trade exception. We have multiple salary combinations that can be put ribeye to trade him. The problem now is he has looked so bad the last few games that teams will be wanting to junk us out with no real value or help for the playoff run.
I Like Jabari's consistent progress each season, he has had a bad stretch of games, but is on a good contract and has a good motor. I would keep Jabari and Amen as role players around a star that you draft, maybe hold onto reed, but everyone else should be available at the deadline. This team is not built to win, best case they maybe win 1 playoff series and that would be outperforming. They need to step back and go back into a semi rebuild, they didn't get a franchise star and need to collect draft picks until they do. You need a Jokic, SGA, Wemby, Luka level player with a solid team built around that level of player. I would also consider getting Stone some help in the front office, someone who can eventually actually replace him, and not Patrick. They need better talent evaluators, they need to outsmart people and not just rely on a high draft pick with a surefire guy like they were "praying for Victor", that is pathetic. I initially wanted to hold onto KD and try for 2 more seasons, but if you can get ahead of the semi rebuild and get two firsts one in each of 2026 and 2027 for him, you do it now. Don't try and piecemeal a contender by star chasing big names in desperation moves either, admit the rebuild was not a complete failure, but still a fail overall. The sooner they realize this the way better off they will be. They also need to get Ime an offensive focused lead assistant.
Who would trade for Bari? He’s been miscast as a supporting piece his entire career. I do believe that he’s talented enough offensively to be a primary option on a bad team.
He is on a very good contract, has shown consistent improvement each year, is only 22 years old. Literally 2/3 of the entire NBA will be on the phone if they knew he was potentially available, if not more. The Bucks callled about an injured Jalen Green, you really think a guy with a much better motor, health, consistent improvement, way better contract wouldn't get interest? People would pay a lot for the potential in a 22 year old who has a very high floor. The Rockets have made a lot of mistakes, but I do not think they are trading Bari unless they are getting a superstar under 27/28 years old in return.
This guy gets it. It’s really this simple. Knowing he’s gonna be a nice 28 year old PF/C the situation still calls for a trade (Good trade)
FVV/Jabari/Tari/Nets pick for Michael Porter Jr/Cam Thomas I threw Tari in there as well because he's been starting and his ceiling starting to show he's is just a good role player. The Rockets need bucket-getters to help with our offense. Ime is always going to be a defensive specialist, but if we cant get buckets and stop players with our current roster then its time to shake things up! Our current roster is NOT going to the Finals so let's not play it safe when we have a 37 year old KD saving us night after night on offense...if Stone doesn't shake up this roster then we'll need a new GM
That sucked. The Blazers were one of the best Jabari trade teams and it’s probably safe to say that’s off the table now.
Actually works, but Rockets would have to add 1 min contracts. Jabari, FVV, Capella, Adams a couple of 1st round picks for Giannis, Rollins, Jericho sims
If Giannis forces a trade, you’ll be surprised how sucky the offers will be. Might have to throw a third pick in.
That’s why I said this lost is on Ime because he mishandled this game. If you see Jabari with no confidence and he’s shooting a bunch of blanks, why is he playing 40+ minutes? Why is he the main guy down the stretch taking all the shots? And why did you go away from the defense on Deni that was working all game?
James Harden shot 4-20, so let’s just make sure we don’t trade for him please. We need Shooters not 4-20 dudes lol
None of the other players you mentioned are good according to you but Reed Sheppard is good? 32% 3 pt last 15 games is good? Can’t beat man off dribble is good? This is fascinating.
Jabari is a below average basketball player and has been his whole career. I’d be genuinely surprised if he had positive trade value.
You trade KD and put Bari on the bench. It was dumb to get KD in the middle of a rebuild with young guys who are still learning.
Yup, people don't think the Darius, Coby White, Lauri, Shadeon Sharpe of the world also have bad games? Sharpe was moved to 6th man as he played himself out of the starting line up. Coby injured again. Darius off year. MPJ volume numbers on offense, is still not great on defense. That contract is still huge. Plus if MPJ gets hurt, would anyone here be surprised? Lot of these maybe candidates all have blemishes.
I think criticism is fair that the org may have overestimated how developed our young core was and their readiness to contend. But I’m gonna assume they stay in win-now mode and wont trade KD. Not that this would happen, but I wonder if Atlanta would give us that Pels 2026 pick for KD. I’d be okay with resetting the timeline and taking another big swing in the draft. I’m all in on Amen and Sengun but we may need another guy. I think there are still a lot of questions with Reed, questions about Tari’s long-term health, and Bari is just a role player. Like I said, I think the org is committed to the win-now approach with KD, but it’s worth noting that we could reset the timeline if we wanted because Amen and Sengun are so young.
Fans of other teams only see the highlights and never the rough stretches. For example, even after these two games, other NBA fans still covet Jabari. They don't see the confidence issues, they don't see the blemishes, they just see a 6'10 guy that can hit shots and play defense. Some teams DON'T have that. Warriors fans would LOVE a big that could actually be played on defense, play with Draymond, and stand behind the 3 point line all day. They have an issue with size since Kerr hates to play anyone that can't shoot but guys like Post can shoot but can't defend in space AT ALL. They'd happily trade some of their guards for Bari in a heartbeat. This is why whenever we acquire a player from another team I always go to the fan subreddit to see what people are actually saying about him...because people will look at the highlight reel and think that's what they are getting.
