Jabari is such damn disappointment of a high draft pick man. He's supposed to be one of your best shooters but he's airballing corner's 3 and no one is surprised. Our ceiling is so extremely limited because he didn't pan out to even half of what he's supposed to be.
I feel you bro, but the truth is picking third we never had a shot at Chet or Paolo. Some picks just don't work out. Thankfully we have a lot of other good young talent. I am all for trading Jabari while he still has value. At some point he'll need to go to the bench for the good of the team and that will kill his value.
I wonder at what point will Jabari’s lack of on court contributions will get him benched. With this particular coach. He seems more likely to bench someone for defensive shortcomings and isn’t bothered by offensive incompetence. So my guess is that Bari won’t be benched until Tari or some other big has measurably better defensive stats.
It's a shame Lauri can't get traded this season. He's the perfect fit. I'd give that bum Jabari and all our picks just for Lauri and not have to see that bust on the team.
This loss wasn't even close on being on Jabari tonight. He hit big shots that helped us get the lead. My only complaint was his defense on Kuminga was bad late in the game. He was playing with two fouls, you don't let him just get layups. Foul the MFer and play physical. If they whistle you then at least he has to make FTs and they were missing FTs all night.
I am not going to excuse his first 15 minutes when he has bricked everything.......but yep he played sporadically well. Very frustrating to watch him.
Gotta tip your hat to Kuminga, Podzksi whatever his name is facemask guy. Jabari's defense wasn't bad but you could force them to make 2 FTs.
He got a little overzealous with the 3s tonight against the Warriors, but at least hit a couple big ones. I think someone should tell him that: 1) He is allowed to put some arc on his shot 2) It is actually beneficial to put some arc on his shot
I don't mind it. If he's open he needs to shoot. I'm like 95% certain his shooting woes is mental. The bad nights you can even see him pump fake open shots. I love the game he had tonight, he was a big part of why we came back. Yeah those were good plays by Kuminga, I just wish he'd foul him, might have shaved some points off the board. He's just gotta get stronger still, more in the base than anything else.
I do not have a problem per se with him other than that I do not treasure robotically playing players. Isn't fluid and often runs his mouth.
I am getting really sick of him catching the ball when open and dribbling into the lane. Just shoot the damn ball man. Stop pump faking, stop hesitating, and stop trying to do some dribble drive when you are OPEN. He sabotages good possessions with this nonsense and it is so frustrating.
Wouldn’t be shocked if he’s gone by the deadline. I wouldn’t be surprised if him and his agent are pushing for it
Does anyone have a good argument for why I should still have faith in Jabari improving a lot on offense? I love his switching defense, and he's doing better on the boards. But the dude won't ever be a starter on a good team if he doesn't become a very good three-point shooter. Not decent, not pretty good, but very good. I've said this on the forum since he was drafted, always worried about how flat his shot is. Glen Rice and Eddie Johnson are the only high-level shooters I can remember who had such flat shots. I think it was his father who said over the summer that he'd worked on putting more arc in his shot, but he's still a straight line drive shooter. I should note, he's really improved his handle. He had a nice little crossover tonight that he wouldn't have been capable of last year. But the dude is a long 6'11" - it's not like he's ever going to get good enough to penetrate off the dribble or pick and roll—at that height, you have to be elite elite to play face-up like that and not get stripped. He doesn't have the footwork/coordination to be effective at going at the rim, which is why he isn't much in transition or half transition or on the short roll. He doesn't have the explosiveness to be a high level dive man. He just has to be a very good shooter if he's ever going to be a plus offensive player.
