That's why wingspan is more important imo. Like a dude that's 6'10" with a better wingspan than a true 7 footer will on paper be more effective at least defensively. Obviously other things come in to play there
I don't think gobert can play 4 but even if he could, they would keep the faster player Kat at the 4, bam plays 5 bc they play small with butler at 4 but with dedmon in the line up, bam plays 4 and lastly not sure which Williams you are referring to, only one I can think of is the Celtics Williams who plays 4 with Harford at 5( the slower player)
I guess perhaps I don't consider Jabari as a rim protector yet. I see him more of a great defensive player who can guard his guy, switch on picks and play help defense (morr passing lanes than blocking shots )
it’s easier for Evan Mobley to get up throw down lobs and he is a much better weak side shot blocker. however Jabari has a slightly better frame and will have no issues putting on weight. Though Mobley will be a beast too. I want to see Jabari post ups. He needs to work on his Dirk/KD move set. He can dominate once he adds weight and improves his footwork
I've always wondered if the pre-draft workouts/combines/etc bother to measure a player's peripheral vision. Seems like that would be a vital piece of data to have on a guy.
You're going to find that many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on what day the Rockets play their next game.
There's a lot of known people that talk about heights of players all the time now. It's just been an interesting topic as of late from Paolo to Chet to Jabari and even before with Cade/Jalen. Unless I see some yardsticks next to Jabari Smith I'll just believe he's 6-10 like he was at the time of the draft. Seems like it's more of a click generator than anything of actual merit.
