Yes, very much so. Like, we all can see Sengun is good, and 95+ % of us are thrilled about it. The constant reassurance of his “superiority in pecking order” to our other youngsters by a certain few posters are really not necessary and are kind of cringey. It gives of the vibes that you’d rather have Smith and Green peek as Horry and Beal and that he would be threatened if they somehow become KD and Booker type of players (not saying that’ll happen, just that it feels like this specific person doesn’t even want that too happen… like Senguns pecking order is more important than the team lol)
Seems like all the Sengun haters are in here. Honestly surprised some of you would even show your face. After being so hilariously wrong and still trying to save face.
This is easily the most ridiculous stance I've ever seen on Sengun, which is insane considering how stupid Sengun detractors tend to be. Literally nobody is propping up Sengun because Smith has a 1% chance of becoming KD. Literally not a soul. Sengun is a walking triple double if he plays with another KD caliber player. It would be GREAT for Sengun's career if Smith became a KD caliber player, and every person smart enough to like Sengun as our best player is aware of that. The Sengun detractors, on the other hand, tend to have a difficult time with big picture ideas, so they tend to see posts in a negative light, regardless of how the posts relate to the overall team.
Right. What’s funny is it’s ok to say Jabari and Green can reach their peak comparisons in KD and Beal (I wouldn’t say that’s his peak) but when people say Alp could be Jokic it gets **** on. It’s best for the Rockets if all of them reach their potential.
Exactly this. I hope they all do. I simply pointed out that the specific poster talks like everyone should forever be Senguns "complimentary piece" and "Robert Horry" when for the time being the potential of those players is clearly higher than Robert Horry. I think Sengun will be an all star this year given he keeps this up and rockets keep winning. But I also want the other youngers to keep developing and become better than Robert Horry.
Except around the world literally just said Smith needs to understand that he's Robert Horry lol Once again, I think Sengun will be an all star this year if he keeps up the play and rockets have a decent record. I just hope the rest of the youngers also keep developing and don't all settle in for being "complementary Robert Horry pieces for the head honcho of pecking order Sengun" that's all.. and mostly that rockets keep winning. Are we in agreement on that?
2-way potential? Yea Amen and Jabari were supposed to be better defenders than green and Sengun. Was that wrong? I'm talking about long term here and that potential is far from being tapped into and they may or may not develop. Sengun and Green have clearly taken their 3rd year leap here and are standing out currently from other youngsters. Sengun is playing better defense than last year and that is nice to see. I think he'll be an all star this year if he keeps up his play and rockets have a decent record. Having said all that I still want Amen and Jabari and Tari and Cam to all keep developing into as good of a player as possible, even if it's an MVP player . Kuzma or Brooks? Yes, at the time I thought they would be trash signings. I didn't like the signing of Brooks because I thought it would take away from playing time for our plethora of young wings. I was wrong. He's been an amazing signing lol and I love him on the team now. The 0% chance of Mobley for Sengun? That was a fact at the time. You think if you offered Sengun for Mobley over the summer the Cavs don't laugh and hang up the phone on you? Right now maybe they sleep on it, but at the time I posted it, they hang up the phone on us. I wanna make it very clear I'm loving what Sengun is doing for us and think he'll be an all start this year if he keeps up his play and rockets have a decent record. The only thing that's weird is your constant need to put all the other youngsters down to know their "pecking order of being complementary Robert Horry pieces for Sengun" lol let's give them a chance to grow over the years and maybe they'll be more than that. We're not winning championships with Sengun and Robert Horrys in today's day and age. We need multiple stars.
What a bad take. It's kinda disgusting that u get triggered when someone thinks lowly of sengun while u give such a sht comp to Smith. When u draft someone at 3rd u wouldn't want his career to b like Robert Horry in term of stats. Sure the man won rings but look at his career average PTS 7.0 REB 4.8 AST 2.1 FG% 42.5 That's fkin disgusting, it's like how folks got triggered green being called Corey Brewer 2.0. Wanting smith to b the next Horry when he got drafted 3rd in the draft is quite insulting.
Doubling down on sht takes like booby. We did not draft Smith at 3 to be a glorified role player that averages a career 7/5/2. I just find it weird that u want everybody to imagine sengun as the next coming of a basketball Jesus while setting the bar of expectation for Smith to such a low standard. Anybody drafted at number 3 averaging that sort of stat line is a bust.
Exactly. It's a common theme among Sengunatics, who gleefully criticize the other young talent on the team while somehow holding Sengun above reproach. And the moment anyone refuses to gush over Alpi, or god forbid offers constructive criticism, they are label a "Sengun hater", a racist, or worse. Yesterday one guy literally wrote that Sengun simply does not have bad games, lol. The funny thing is, despite the consternation and their fanciful thinking, there is no Sengon led "pecking order" considering one guy leads the team in minutes and assists (VanVleet), and another guy leads in ppg, shot attempts, and usage rate (Green), while Sengun himself leads in PIP and post touches. Coach Udoka said things would be earned and he has held true to that. The result is amazing team effort every night (except for that Orlando game which I like to pretend never happened). The diverse offensive approach and defensive versatility have worked impressively well thus far so it's ridiculous to me that any "fan" would want to take away from that just to buttress their own idealistic view of their guy.
The only difference between atw and booby is that man picked a more successfully role player in terms of rings. Likening green to b the Corey Brewer 2.0 or Smith to have a role like Robert Horry is quite insulting and triggering. We drafted our youngsters to b superstars or franchise players, fans should want their players to be the next big thing not role players under sengun. Drafting players that high to have a career as role players is considered a bust.
You’re a hypocrite is the problem. You constantly bash Alp, who is without a doubt the best player on the team right now, but then want to play victim when you get called out on it.
