That would be an awfully fun team to watch progress. Not sure JGup should be ahead of KJM at this point, but not super opposed. If we get Smith, we still need to get another big to come off the bench with the Nets pick. I’d probably do something like this: KPJ Green KJM Smith Sengun NIx or Schroeder(if cheap enough) Jaygup Matthews Tate New Big from draft And add a new coach please.
I'd start Mathews over both KJ and Tate. Sengun needs maximum spacing so he can do his work in an uncluttered paint.
He's not currently a playmaker, which is why I thought an oversized Klay Thompson is an apt comparison.
IDK if I really see Matthews as a true floor spacer. I like him as a 10th man personally. Plays hard, hits some shots. Takes some bad shots and is ultimatepy overrated on D because of his effort and charge taking. Christopher has more potential as a cutter/creator/defensive stopper.
How about Rashard Lewis? Which the more I look seems like an apt comparison. Long impactful career, 2x all star, career 39% from 3 which is incredible for being 6’10’’. Both Klay and Rashard don’t fill up the stat sheet elsewhere. Lewis only averaged less than 5 rebounds. He had a stretch of averaging 20 pts per game for several seasons but didn’t provide much else. So happy with a Rashard Lewis clone?
