But seriously, at first glance this sounded like it was really going to crush us, but our depth is pretty ridiculous. You can get Amen in there at the 4 (not tonight unfortunately), Cam Whitmore takes most of his backcourt minutes, Tate gets 20 to 24mpg or so backing up the forward spots. If Tari isn't just done, which my jury is out on at this point--the silence on wtf is going on has been suspicious as hell--maybe he comes back and plays some minutes while Bari is out. We'll be okay. Even still, looking at pulling the trigger on a January (edit: initially wrote December, oops) trade instead of waiting until the deadline might not be such a bad idea.
Sorry to hear that. Hope he heals up, watches film, and works on his lower body and what he can in his downtime.
Our depth used to be ridiculous, but the Tari injury is what puts such a dark cloud over things right now. I honestly think the Rockets will be ok sans Jabari, especially if he's not out the full 8 weeks. They return from the All-Star Break exactly 7 weeks from today. I could see him being back around then. But that bench is gonna be awfully thin if Tari is out for a while(or even worse, done for the season).
I’m hoping Tari is back in a week or so and able to play. Even if that’s only for 20 minutes a game. Start Amen.
On a side note, the top picks in the 2022 NBA Draft appear to be cursed. Paolo and Chet have missed most of the season, Chet already missed all of his first year, Ivey just had his leg broken against the Magic, and now Jabari breaks his hand in shootaround.
Man, just when his shot was really coming around and he was the most comfortable I’ve seen him. We’ve been lucky with injuries but with Tari and Bari our luck appears to be running out. This better not screw with moving our expirings at the deadline.
Cam broke his hand on purpose to open up playing time. After his mysterious interview where he said "I don't know, I don't know" what it would take to get on the floor, he finally figured out what he had to do.
