He looks too uptight on offense but I think he can be more than decent with his handles as he develops. When he lost the ball at the 1 min mark it was more about him thinking about the dunk and taking his eye off the ball than him showing poor handles imo.
Smith will be just fine, people forget he's the youngest player in this draft class who's game isn't 100% dunks. What's far more important for me is if he can improve his Roll-man game, he wasn't a very good finisher at the rim in college. At 6' 10", I'd like to see him play big before worrying about him playing small.
ya I can agree with that and it was the only time I saw him lose the ball like that. all other times I watched him you can tell he needs work but what he has now already gets the job done. his high BBIQ makes him well aware of when to dribble or not to dribble. many players would just force it
So most 19-year-olds have the same weakness? His age has nothing to do with his handles you got junior high kids with great handles. Yes, he will get better with age but his age has nothing to do with what people are talking about.
It's not about "Great Handles" its about average NBA handles. And most wing guys taken in the top 5 have them. So you want to talk about what being 19 years old has to do with it?
You start a conversation, you can't even finish it You're talking a lot, but you're not saying anything When I have nothing to say, my lips are sealed Say something once, why say it again?
The mechanics on him handling the ball look off. However, I only think it is this way because he is so smooth defensively periodefensively. I think the contrast makes it look worse than it is. He doesnt need advanced handle. He does need to be able to go to the basket or get into the lane and spin. I was very impressed last night with his ability to pass out of the post he uses his vision being so dirty and being so tall really well and and passes right on the money. I don't know if we will need a true point guard to really unlock him but we will have to focus some offensive sets on generating him easy baskets. Pick and pop is fine
If I agree, I agree, I don't let other disagreements impact everything. None of this stuff is that important.
Don't know the interviewer but she does a good job and comes off as genuine and caring with some touchy questions for a young guy. I like that Jabari was ready to immediately get away from social media. Nothing but detractors and people who aren't doing anything except bringing others down on there. A sign of maturity from him to recognize that quickly.
He does need all of that stuff if he wants to be a franchise-type player or all NBA and deserve a max deal. He currently does not have an average NBA handle let alone advanced, he will not make a living with turnaround jumpers in the post. Being able to spin in the lane is a rudimentary skill for forwards.
