Hey, that's a good point. ++++++ I am one of the posters who were kind of disappointed with the Ariza signing and his production, during the season. I know we certainly don't need another malcontent on the team, while the team is trying its d@mndest to stay in the West's elite 8. These guys are trying their hardest and are very focus, they really don't need any distraction with such a small for error. As one bad or extending losing streak could cost us, down the road. If J.R. Smith is going to bring a bad attitude or dissatisfaction from the trade, then we are better off leave him in Denver and not bring one more mention to his name. We need players who are going to have their head screwed on straight and ready to get this team into playoffs. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I'd like to add my name to petition to start Chase for Ariza, if there exist such a thing. I know some posters were saying how Ariza wouldn't take it well, if he was benched. You know what, that is his problem to deal with it, if he can handle being benched, maybe he should play better or be included in a trade.
i cant believe a reporters little opinion about a bogus made up trade has led to 6 pages. smith is alot like wafer,he probably makes bonehead mistakes. I would do the trade but id rather let battier expire next season and use the cap space.in fact id rather trade ariza since arizas contract is going to haunt us for 4 years. rebuild with young draft picks on cheap contracts.and save cap space for our own draft pics, landry, brooks, yao.

It's possible that JR smith is my least favorite player in the league. Talent-wise I'd trade Ariza for him straight up and factoring in age, Battier would be worth it as well. But JR is a complete dumbass and is in no way worth the leadership alone that losing Battier would cost us. Trevor's attitude is a question mark to me so it'd be at least a consideration with him.

Smith is the exact opposite of Battier. Funny if we traded Battier for him. Personally, I wouldn't touch J. R. Smith with a 10-foot pole. He is almost as scary (to his own team) as the young Ron Artest.
Let's see things that describe Smith being opposite to Battier: Athletic (fast, great hops) Very good offensive player Poor defender Doesn't think things out very well bad attitude Poor leadership (most likely) Political incorrect tattoos A few runs-ins with law has been suspended for fighting in the past Not studious cantankerous <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tim5nU3DwIE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tim5nU3DwIE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
If this trade could happen, we definitely should trade Ariza for J.R. Smith instead of giving away Shane for him. Not just take a close look at the stat sheets, Battier did not score as many points as Trevor did earlier this season, but his defense and presence on the court give us a huge lift come the crucial moment. He can knock down the clutch 3s from the corner, and Ariza has done nothing but turnovers in the critical times thus far. Also, I think it is Battier who help the team gel together and form an identity for us altogether.
why would the rockets trade battier for a player who cant tell the difference from a field goal bucket and an airball?
what does having tatoos have to do with anything? kobe and lebron both have numerous tats, and i would want them on my team in a heartbeat. hell, even del freaking harris has a tatoo, and he head to be a head coach (current assistant)!
Horrible idea. JR smith is terrible. he gets hot once in a blue moon and thats a PR nightmare to keep that guy from ruining team chemistry
