this has been his worst shooting season in his career but it is still better than what Ariza is doing Check his previous 3 seasons. 40%+ from 3, 45%+ form the field. Plus he is more athletic than Ariza
I was going to say no, but didn't realize he was ONLY 24. Heck yes. I don't like his attitude though.
If we collapse down the stretch, there is no use for him here. Ditto for Luis. They will be better on a team with a real chance to win a championship.
The teams in penguin and polar bear teams have already rejected any trades for Ariza, they don't want him clanking on their icicles. Which player do you think could help a team more, if they need scoring Ariza or Smith?
He is the #3 guy on a team that reached the WCF last season. He is young, I think he can do even more than what he has shown. I agree that we should not blow up the team for him, but a deal consisting of just Ariza would be fantastic imo.
I think I would it for Ariza. My biggest concern on giving up Battier and adding a knucklehead would be losing some stability on the leadership side.
Look at Ariza! Has anyone ever seen him look this happy since he's been with the Rockets? Burst out laughing like that? I hope so, because I haven't and I'd like to think he's a happy camper.
Didn't you hear DM's comments on the team during his latest radio interview? Right now there are only three veteran defenders on this team--Chuck, Shane and Trevor. The others are up and down when it comes to defense. So I think we are keeping both Shane and Trevor. Trevor is likely taking over the role of Shane as primary wing defender when Shane eventually retires. That's why we are willing to wait for Trevor's offense to come. I think the last few games he has been showing signs of willingness to play within his limits. I still like him a lot for our team.
