The movie is called 'Cloverfield' now. The tagline is 'Some Thing Has Found Us' (clever). New CLOVERFIELD TV Spot Offers A Larger Look At The Film. and Cool viral marketing web page. You can move the pictures around with your mouse. If you go to the official site, you can see the second trailer. At the bottom of the page, if you click 'grab this widget' it pops up a small window that shows about four minutes of footage from the beginning of the movie. Its more like an expanded version of the teaser from months ago. Looks friggin awesome. Another edit: Supposed leaked pre-production art. This is a big spoiler if it's true: Spoiler
I just discovered that if you go to the above site and shake the pictures, they flip over. Some of them have little notes from the people in the pictures like 'Good times!'. The one with the asian chef has what looks like a recipe written in Japanese. Can anyone translate? Here's a screenshot I took:
These sites should help you get caught up: http://www.cloverfieldnews.com/ http://cloverfieldclues.blogspot.com/ They've got links to the official viral sites and the official myspace pages of the characters. 1-18-08.com Slusho.jp Tagruato.jp TidoWave.com JamieAndTeddy.com I haven't really been following the viral stuff on this for a while, but if you are interested there seems to be plenty of info at those sites. The last interesting thing I remember is that if you let the site with the pictures sit still for 6 minutes, you can hear the monster roar. I wish there was like a wiki running down the whole viral campaign to catch people up because at this point, I'm not sure I want to search out all that's happened. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bvmffgH_PeY&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bvmffgH_PeY&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
Oh, and that drawing of the monster is fan art http://dougblot.blogspot.com/2007/09/1-18-08.html The guy was entering into a "draw your version of the monster" contest. I'm glad it's not real, not that I don't think the design is cool, I'm just glad I haven't been spoiled yet.
you can discuss it ad nauseam here: http://www.rottentomatoes.com/vine/forumdisplay.php?s=&f=101185328

What's wrong with posting a direct link to the "widget?" I didn't see it the first time I went to the main trailer page. Sorry, guy...
I posted a referral link to Karate RPG. I don't think it's a problem. In fact I thought about setting up the same thing but I didn't want to mess with the signup.
Seriously...what the hell is the monster....I wish they would give an idea....dont want to go into the movie with humungous expectations and find out it is a mutated Gary Shandling or something stupid like that.......I am excited about this movie though....its been a while since I could say that about a film.
My guess is that it will be something like Godzilla, but not really. From what I've seen in the clips that have been posted, it is big, pissed off, and comes from the water. The government may or may not know of its existence before the attack on New York and there are related parasites that infect and kill people.
