What? Romans 1:18 has nothing to do with movie. It doesn't even mention monsters. Romans is about the wickedness of man and losing his senses and worshiping images of false idols. And men sleeping with men and women having "unnatural" relations. You're way off buddy. Keep trying though. This movie is making people really reach out to find something.
I finally saw Transformers over this last weekend and got to see this trailer. I gotta say, I am excited. If they can generate tension and fear in the movie anywhere near as effectively as they did in the short minute or so in the trailer, then that move is going to be intense. I look forward to it.
I was going to pop into the Hangout to post some of this, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that others have already started. I say started, because this thing is going to be an ongoing affair for the next six months. Instead of going out into one of those anonymous blog spots out there, I figured I would try to get the juices flowing here with our own resident sleuths. It would be a lot sweeter to figure some of this stuff out locally. With that in mind, here is some updated info: 1) That license-plate website is not affiliated with the movie at all, just some guy trying to coattail on it to raise his web hits. Worthless. 2) As of now, there are two validated websites (that have been discovered, anyway) having to do with the movie: the 01-18-08 site and the Slusho! site. 3) The first site contains some mysterious puzzles - I have not yet figured any of them out, but there is definitely more content there than just those three movable pictures. Have a go, see what you can figure out. 4) The Slusho! site is very cartoony and definitely meant to appear very Japanese, all the way down to the weak engrish translations. Reading through the 'History' section offers some insights - that this has something to do with some mysterious 'ingredient' found on the ocean floor, and people somehow transforming into 'whales' (sea monsters?). 5) Also, the Slusho! site gives names of people who, when researched, would appear to be involved in the Japanese video game industry, specifically the (ugh!) Pokemon series of video games. Seems to lend some credence to the notion that this may be some kind of live-action giant Pokemon movie. Lord I hope not. (On the other hand, Transformers was not all that bad as a movie). 6) The 01-18-08 site is registered under the name of Albert Pike, who is undoubtedly not a real person, but when researched turns out to have been a high grand pooh-bah of the Freemasons in the 1800's. How that ties in, no one knows yet. 7) In the trailer itself, real clues and 'possible clues' abound. Not going to go into every detail that other people have found, but in one brief second you see a character in the preview wearing a Slusho! t-shirt... 8) ..but the thing I really want you guys to use your mighty brains on is this: In watching the preview (and definitely watch the HD version, you can see it better), at exactly the :54 mark, as people are rushing out onto the roof to see what was happening outside, the camera does an odd 'zoom' effect for a second. In examining the shot frame by frame, the exact focus of the zoomed area comes into clearer focus for one frame only. (Everything else in the shot is blurred and pointed to this one spot, so I don't believe it is an accident.) It is a shot of an open window across the street, or something like that. In the brightness of the spot, there appears to be some kind of crude drawing, of some kind of monster, or demon, or maybe even a giant robot. But it's definitely there. I don't have any way to post a screen shot, but it's easy to see. I mention it here because, as of today anyway, no one has mentioned seeing it, so maybe no one has noticed it yet. Would be cool if someone here figured out what it means. 9) Really don't think it's cthulhu. The few things that happen in this preview are not the way the cthulhu mythos world would behave. 10) Those Ethan Haas sites are not affiliated with the movie either - they are affiliated with a game coming out Aug 1st, but it's nothing related to this movie. Anyway, there's lots more out there, I have obviously been bored at work today, so if any of you big brains can figure any of it out, let's see what you got. Enjoy!
Speaking of "giant robot" right before the preview of this movie a small icon came on the bottom of the screen and had the words "bad robot" on it.
Wikipedia references other websites. You can't just write down your own opinion. It got the information from another website dedicated to the movie.
That's the name of JJ Abrams' production company. I do not watch Lost, but I understand that that logo has been there from the beginning. Doesn't appear to have anything specifically to do with the content of the movie itself though.
That's Abrams production company if I'm not mistaken, icon appears during the credits of Lost as well
Bump.. Sorry, just didn't want this topic to slide into oblivion before people get interested. I know it may take a while..
The folks on the Rotten Tomatoes forum have been running all over the place with this stuff. Some of it's pretty funny...
This interested me, so I took a screenshot. It's from the 1080p, best I could get: Giant rastafarian?
I didn't write my own opinion. I opened the bible wrote down what it said. And it says nothing about monsters.
wow, people are into it. almost 3000 posts. i always use rotten tomatoes to check movies and stuff but never knew about its forums. 10 million posts. jeezus. has to be the biggest forum board on the internet. period.
nah, that's a drawing of the New Orleans looter makin off with the beer after the city gets trashed by the monster.
