how is he overpaid? a 100% healthy Howard is worth more than Adonal Foyle, and all those other chumps that ARE being overpaid. That 100 mil contract is a thing of the past. If anything, the contract is just longer than we would like.

I think that if Howard comes back 100%, he should start. Heck I'd run a starting five of Yao/Howard/Swift/TMac/Sura. Swift just got to earn his dues before he starts in place of Howard, that's all.

Does anyone have an update on his health? Didn't like him, but the dude grew on me during the season, hopefully he's ok and willing to take a 50/50 or even 40/60 role at PF with Swift.

If Howard is healthy at the start of the season i'm sure he will start ~ he's a better player than Swift right now. There is no doubt though that they will both get plenty of minutes - hopefully though by the end of the season Swift will be playing well enough to win the starting position into the playoffs. That's my hope anyway...

Heck I was dreamin about that same starting five in my econ class today. Seriously, why not just throw your 5 best players out there especially when it can work.

I like your enthusiasm, but there's nobody in that lineup than can guard shooting guards and point guards effectively (full time). Basically opposing backcourts would have a field trip against that team and Mr. Van Gundy would be Mr. Very Grumpy

I am pretty sure TMac can guard shooting guards. Who would give him GREAT trouble? Only Kobe, LeBron and probably Wade come to mind.

J Howard has the demeanor of a well adjusted professional. I doubt that he is lonely because of his family and the fact that a lot of pressure is off him because of Stro. I would be willing to bet that if he is in town he has spoken to his newest protegee and is looking forward to passing the torch as a player and a professional.

I hope some of you guys aren't setting yourselves up for a huge dissappointment from a guy who's averaged 9 and 5 and been sort of a bust so far. First some of you guys were going to hang yourselves from a shower rod when the press conference wasn't broadcast, then you want to tar and feather Rosen because he called it like he saw it on Swift and now you're wondering if Howard is sitting in some corner crying like we signed Jermaine O'Neal. The board really needs to dial it back.

Well my friend if you are suggesting that some of us considered suicide because of a of a delayed press conference, then we aren't the ones that need to dial it back.

    HUMBLY SUBMITTED...

I'm going to commit suicide because you misspelled "Elie" in your sig. How could you disrespect Super Mario like that?

Being a comedian I'm sure you've heard of sarcasm and exaggeration.

    Humbly submitted

I just don't understand why you try to douce the enthusiam of fans that are excited about the potiental of Swift. Remember when some people used some of the same descriptors for Tracy? Give him a chance, If you're right I'll be the first to pat you on the back.

JH should be feeling OK. Just think...he's going to be taking on the backups in the league...not the Duncans and the Garnetts. JH and Mutombo are a nice backup combination.

For real I bet J Howard is like thank you Carrol now I can rest and don't have to jump so much. I think he will be a great scorer off the bench with the extra rest, also.

    How can he be lonely?
He'll be hanging on the bench now with Weatherspoon and Vin Baker.

Stromile will start and Juwan will come off the bench.

I think JH is feeling fine right now. If we would have had JH last year, I think we would have made it further into the playoffs, that being said, unless he gets traded, he and Swift will be the perfect change of pace.

I think it's a great situation for both of them

The only way Stro starts is if we trade JHow (or he's hurt). No way JVG hands over the starting position of his trusted veteran. Stro will start, at some point, but he'll need to earn it.

I agree. We were at our best when Howard was playing. I for one, believe if he were healthy, we would have finished off Dallas.

Swift is not going to be handed the starting spot. Hell have to prove the team is better with him starting, and that will be difficult seeing as how well this team did when Juwon was healthy.
