You do realize that you have to own a players rights before you buy them out, right? And you currently don't. ANYWAY, I'm not sure AI's going to help you guys one way or another, but the one thing I will tell you is that many of you will fall in love with him. Most Nugs fans did -- even those of us that thought it was time for him to go for the good of the team (like myself). He's fun to watch (especially in person) and is one of the top 50 players of all time. In a year where you're not expected to contend, there are worse ways to spend your money.
Yes, I understand. It would involve a dealing with Minnesota to pick up his rights, which they drafted, and then buying out his DKV contract. yes...i get that. My initial statement before the one you just commented on was a simple scenario in which it may be possible to snag a young player DM stated he had interest in around draft time. The addition of AI would not necessarily work against those goals from early summerand in the meanwhile, he'd sell tickets. Lets get real here, aside from those of us who sip our coffee at school and work posting on this forum, the Rockets don't have a whole lot to market to the avg fan. No all-star caliber player = lower ticket sales
The Iverson mention may very well be irrelivant by friday... http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/columns/story?columnist=sheridan_chris&page=Iverson-090819
sux. i love this hard-workign guy. imagine if Iverson, Scola and Hayes are all on the floor at the same time.
i like iverson... taking abt a guy at his peak single-handedly took a team to the finals, and plays every single game like his last... it is a one yr deal...
hmm, interesting new tweet "I have been blessed to make plenty of money in this league. Now it's not about the money, its about playing me getting back on the court &" http://twitter.com/allenIverson
Hopefully Iverson would be able to keep himself from laughing when Chuck goes to the free throw line.
Iverson to the Rockets? With what money? Did Detroit have to renounce him to sign Gordon and Villanueva? Can he be signed-and-traded? Oh well.
Brian Cook + Barry + Cash for Iverson? Is there any way the Rockets can make that an attractive offer to another team?
