I have no idea how this would work out to put Iverson in the same team with T-Mac. The worst situation.

This actually would not be a bad idea, we can have Iverson mentor Aaron Brooks. He is a former MVP after all.

We don't have any of those on our team.

I actually don't mind for just this season, what's the worst that could happen?

Last offseason... Everyone on this site was talking about a trade going down for Iverson and then bam, we get Artest right at the pinnacle of the Iverson talk...

This offseason... We have the Iverson talk.... Then bam... what happens? :)

I think it could work the same way that I imagine a T-Mac/Brooks backcourt working. T-Mac runs the "point" while Brooks or in this case, Iverson, is the SG that comes off screens and such.

We can beg all we want, Iverson is not going to want to come off the bench. Espeically on a team that is currently offensively challenged as we are. You don't think DET was begging for AI to come off the bench? How well did that work?

Didn't morey say in an interview tht they were looking to add a player tht every1 thinks is washed up but he didn't believe so.... maybe he was talking about AI....
    Former MVP and Allstar....
is there a way a sign and trade could be done?

If a miracle happened and Iverson agrees to come off the bench, then I'm all for it

He'll hurt our chances at the playoffs or at the lottery. We'll end up in the middle of the pack and it'll be a wasted season again.

Well if we do sign Iverson, I expect to trade Battier for a center.

Maybe Battier for Bogut or something in that region

    PG Brooks, Lowry

    SG Iverson, Ariza

    SF McGrady, Ariza

    PF Scola, Landry, Hayes

    C Bogut, Andersen

I don't know, I hate the off season!

allegedly, Iverson is close to signing with a mystery team

"Are Miami, New York and Charlotte the teams that Allen Iverson is interested in signing with? Yes, according to a post on Iverson's Twitter account on Monday.

"My people just informed me that we are getting close to a deal. I asked them to call me when its done. I am so ready to know!" said a post on Iverson's Twitter account late Tuesday morning.

The next post, 18 minutes later, said, "I have not been this eager with anticipation since the night before the NBA Draft in 96. Then I knew where I was going, now I want to know."

No no no no. Iverson might be a good fit for one season, but he will pollute our young guys. I much rather take a chance with the rookies. Knowing that they will develop and learn throught this season. I think that Scola and Brooks wil carry the load. Iverson in rockets red means danger to the teams chemistry. He will take shots away and will not buy into he rockets defense and hustle. Big no in my opinion.

We need to rebuild, getting into the playoffs would be a big achievement but it's not going to help in the long run. AI is a poor fit. Yao and Tracy can never be relied upon now. Les and DM refuse to except the inevitable.

LOL Rookie.. How the hell do we buy out a player thats not even on the team. LOL oooh boy that was funny

As for the thread Yes to Iverson. I mean its 1 freaking year. We aren't in shape to win it all anyway. We need someone to score. Scola and Brooks are guys who get theres off of other guys.

Les is so in love with money because of Yao might as well sign Iverson so he can make money and try to fill up those empty damn seats. Iverson probably would attract people and Les gets his $$$

Im with you man... sure he may help our chances at getting to the playoffs.. but we are not a contender with him, and he will stunt the growth of our youth. I agree, we will be middle of the road again....

i do admit, he will definitely help fill seats.. and he could possibly mentor brooks. those are the only pluses i see. the negative impacts are much more subtle, but could have huge future implications.

When did he say that?? Although I don't think he was referring to Iverson. I wouldn't say he is washed up. He just needs to be on a team where he can be "the guy" and have role players around him.

Right we already have the Original Tracy McGrady, now you want to bring in a 6'0 version of him?

No thanks, but I will tell you guys something and that's that Allen Iverson has more heart and balls than Tracy McGrady ever had or ever will have. I wouldn't mind Iverson, if T-Mac is not on this team.

Wrong you dolt. Rubio is on a team, DKV Jovenut, with an $8'ish Million buyout.

LOL oooh boy that was funny "TMac4Life"

Doesn't work that way man. We would have to acquire his rights from Minnesota first. Then we would have to help buy him out. NBA teams are only allowed to pay $500k toward a buy out. The rest is on the player to pay.
