I'm sure if he was motivated he'll play defense. If his heart is in it he'll give it his all. Hell anyone would be motivated if they saw their team giving it in day and night.

I could see how iverson would be a great aquisition on the buisness side (tickets, jerseys, ratings) but as a basketball discision not at all. He's not enough with our current roster to actually make some noise in the west. Plus it would not allow our young players to develop I think the only silver lining to this season is that our "young core" will have the chance to develope as unit, and feel the wieght of the franchise on there shoulders.

Don't waste your time on this. Its not going to happen. We have no Money... No Roster space.... No #3 or #1 jersey.... We won't be getting Iverson. This was made up by some fan. Who?? I have no idea. But you can tell a fan easily wrote this because they spell Ric's name "Rich" Bucher instead of Ric.

We have $2.1 million to spend if we want to spend all of the mid level...

It may not be true, but signing Pops doesn't mean this isn't happening. Maybe we're getting Iverson in a sign and trade, and part of the deal was giving up one of our bigs.

Why would they sign and trade for Iverson when they could just go to him and get him??? Iverson tweeted its not about the money he just wants to ball. The Rockets can offer him the chance to shine again considering the guys that are out. He is willing to sign a one year deal. I say sign him for a one year deal ( if the rumors are true ) and leave us with a low risk high reward type deal.

I've never seen teams do a 1/ 2 year sign and trade type of deal. Sign and Trade usually means years multi-year deal with money which i don't think the Rockets are willing to put up. 1 year to prove himself. If it works cool if not he gets to walk and they have nothing to worry about.

just because iverson said it's not about the money doesn't mean houston has money available to sign him.... "its not about the money" does not mean he'll sign for a dollar. We're still talking millions here...

If they acquire Iverson without giving up other pieces, they will be way over the LT. Alternatively, we offer Cook+Landry to a team for Iverson, we don't hurt ourselves financially. Not advocating that trade, but perhaps that's one possibility the Rockets would consider.

Well considering McGrady and Yao's contract I would assume that we will be over the LT until their contracts expire. With the signing of Pop another way to get him here is to cut James White ( non guaranteed contract ) and others who have non guaranteed contracts. Im not sure who other than White fits that category but that's a way.

I wouldn't hold my breath for this rumor considering Aaron Brooks is like an Allen Iverson but younger and has room to grow. No need to be desperate and sign Iverson just because of his name. McGrady is coming back and that's it. I really wouldn't understand the signing of A.I if this is true.

No way Morey wants to sign Iverson, no way. If this happens, it has Les Alexander's fingerprints all over it.

Found this on another forum talking about the Iverson to Houston rumor...

"This is a total Morey Moneyball move. Pickup undervalued assets way below market price. We got AI for cheap.

He won't hurt us. He's like getting Steve Francis a few years back. If he produces great..if not, then he can ride the pine like Mike James did."

    Good point ^ ;)

Please no. No, no, no, a million times no... No. We actually have some scrappy, good character guys, who will run and try hard--might even shock us all. Why do we have to play yet another Dribblemania Mixtape, Vol. 4? To sell tickets? After a month of that, the fans will stay home in droves.

I mean, what are we talking about?

Dude dont you see that Iverson fits our team, if hes around a group of guys that hustle he will hustla hes ass off, dont you remember when he was in the Sixers and took a same-like team to the championship. He is a great scorer we need. Who care about this guy Pops, dont even know y they signed him. Does not make sense at all

Makes some sense if Yao's career is done and Anderson doesn't have what it takes. We're not as deep at C as some people think.

I wouldn't like the idea either (if you're opposing the Rockets).

I believe my eyes--what I saw of AI in Denver and Detroit--more than I believe what AI twitters. Don't get me wrong, I love the man's courage. I hope he makes good his words, especially if he comes here. But he's a fading star. We've had enough of those. I'm with those who'd rather give those minutes to young guys on the rise.
