It is -12 degrees outside with a -44 windchill. I just popped my head outside this morning and can't imagine spending more than 5 minutes with any skin exposed.

I never should have left Texas.

It's 25 degrees here, which if you convert to Texas temperature, that means it feels like -60 degrees outside for us.

Chicago... I've shoveled out the entire house 5x in the last 72 hours. I need to do it again, but no way I can go out there and do it until we get at least above 0.

My girlfriend is going out of town this week if her flight is not cancelled.

I have very mixed emotions about her flight potentially getting cancelled.

    Nah, bring on the storms.

Wow looking at the map Houston is colder than NYC. Right now its nice and mild on the east coast. Tonight and tomorrow, when that arctic air comes in, its supposed to be f#$=ing cold!

It is 32 outside where I live, and a couple of neighboring counties and private schools have closed school for today and possibly tomorrow.

Georgia is very afraid of the cold.

When I woke up this morning it was -24 here in Minneapolis. Not to worry though it will warm up to -15 at 4Pm.

On the plus side I was finally able to do this last night.

Does that mean we're getting 120 this summer? If so, I'm outta here.

Chicago is pretty bad. I was walking by Clark-Lake when I got hit with a good burst of wind. I was literally in pain.

    Stay warm, ya'll.

At -15, you need a ski cap (or rough equivalent) and must cover your ears in addition to wearing a heavy coat. A scarf is necessary if you will be exposed for more than a few minutes. Consider gloves too.

You just can't be outside in wind very long. I left Indy 28 years ago for Houston and this time of year is why I have no regrets. I can't imagine putting up with below zero weather.

I can empathize with the OP. This is my first winter away from Texas and it just so happens that it is already the nastiest winter that St. Louis has had in 30 years.

We have 12 inches of snow piled up in our driveway and on our neighborhood streets. And since the temperatures aren't supposed to get above freezing until Thursday and won't get more than a few degrees above freezing until the weekend, it's going to stick around for a while.
